    Where is Washington DC?

Just installed Newport Washington DC but cannot find it under Washington DC or District of Columbia. I even checked Maryland not there either. Where would you think it might be?

There are no airports in FSX within the District of Columbia, so that's why you can't take off from there. Find something outside, such as KDCA - Reagan International.

You can find more work for the area here; http://myflightsimblog.com/MyFlightS...A_WashDCX.html

Fixed wing aircraft operated from Bolling AFB/NAS Anacostia within DC borders until 1962, when the bases were closed to make way for KDCA.

Have you looked for Ronald Reagan Washington National KDCA?

    DC shows up under Virginia.

There is some good scenery available for both DC and KDCA. There is also some payware for KIAD.

"Newport?" There are no airports whatsoever within the District of Columbia. What is the scenery file name? Where did you get it?

    There are many heliports though.....
Basic Flying Rules: "Try to stay in the middle of the air. Do not go near the edges of it. The edges of the air can be recognized by the appearance of ground, buildings, sea, trees and interstellar space. It is much more difficult to fly there."

Yea, I did a search in FSX to see where "Newport" would be and unless this is a new addon that was left out of FSX, there isn't a Newport Airport in Washington, DC.

There are Newports around the country, but none that I could locate on the east coast. So "rewasiuk", where did you get the scenery?

This is probably what the OP bought:

Speaking of airports around DC, KDCA is just across the Potomac. You can see DC landmarks sitting on the tarmac. KADW, where Air Force One calls home, is pretty close. Slightly farther away, KIAD and KBWI are the two major commercial airports that serve the area.

There are also a number of small airports in the area, but nothing spectacular in default scenery.

He's talking about Newport Photo Real scenery, not an airport. They put out a package for DC a while back.

Reagan National could almost be considered DC, as it's just across the Potomac from the Capital. Just a quick trip over the bridge and you're in town. Been there several times, quite a place. A visit every American should make at least once.

The land KDCA occupies was a part of DC, but retroceded to Virginia long before the airport was built. However, a small portion at the southern tip is still within DC borders.
