I always feel sorry for this brave little F3F in relation to its nickname, certainly since it's known that pilots referred to it as a wonderful aeroplane to fly. In my native language (Dutch), 'barrel' means 'rusty piece of junk', ususally in relation to a vehicle. Now put that in bold lettering with 6 exclamation marks to boot and it's not hard to understand it won't go unnoticed by me...

It's actually not that much of a glamorous nickname in English neither, is it..

Can't wait for AH 2.0's new rendition to be released.

Well, growing up in the US we had "roll out the barrel, we'll have a barrel of fun" - the lyrics to a polka song I believe that are bit more cheery!

Re flying the F3F, I was introduced at a social event by my Dad to Leroy Grumman when I was a kid and recall he jokingly claimed that the F3F was so sensitive you could make it back left/right just by leaning in the seat left/right without needing to move the stick! It was one of my Dad's favorite planes and we built the model with the gear that lowered by spinning the prop.
Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.

The C-117 was referred to as the Super DC3. The clipped wings, nacelle fairings, stab mods and PW R-2000 radials were part of a the upgrade that gave the aircraft better performance. A wonderful present day working C-117 can be found in the movie "The Big Year".

Ok, the FTX/Orbx KSEZ Sedona airport is awesome.

I normally dont buy airports, just main regional sceneries, but I broke down in a point of weakness. Great place to fly my "restored" warbirds!

    hahahaha..

I thought Wadpol travelled further than this side of the pond. It's a wadding.. like a bound cotton-wool if you wish, soaked with aircraft specific polish.. similar in many ways to Brasso (assuming Brasso travelled further than the UK)

Lovely Lightning shot Dave (as per)
