    Focke Wulf Fw 200

Just found and installed this beauty.

I know it's been around for a few years now , but the detail is great and coupled with Lawdog's Bramo 323F radial sounds , it's a keeper.

    Pete.

Thanks for reminding me to roll this beauty out of the hangar once again, Pete!
Although quite dated, this is still an amazing rendition of a remarkable (and tragical fated) aircraft.

Only one relatively complete Fw 200 exists today. This aircraft was raised from the Trondheimsfjorden in Norway in the late 1990s. Despite disintegrating on recovery, the remains were transported to the Technical Museum in Berlin to be rebuilt there. A request from the museum for a set of separate wings to be recovered from the mountain Kvitanosi near Voss in Norway to complete the rebuild was at first denied, as a result of the local population wanting the wings to be left in situ as a war memorial. A compromise was reached in 2008 where parts not needed for the restoration would be left on the mountain. During autumn of 2009 parts were moved down by helicopter and made ready for transport to the Technical Museum in Berlin.

Here's some more tragic pics of the recovery attempt in 1998:

But the restoration is going on:

This is yet another great bird I missed when I moved onto a new PC and FS9. I noticed the model is transparent at night. Is there a tool that works in Windows 7 (64bit) to fix this? I could do it before in FS8 with a little tool that does not operate in the 64 bit environment.

BTW, here are the Shockwave bits.

    Aircraft.cfg Entries:

    [LIGHTS]

Without the war the Condor would have been the airliner to beat. Nothing else really came close to her performance and while short a couple of tails she is almost as pretty as Connie.I think to get rid of the see-through night fuselage you need only add solid black _L bitmaps for the exterior such as fuse, wings etc.Stefan

I was wondering if there were any repaints with Luftwaffe markings?

    Thanks,

    T.

Well, Hauke's model depicts the civil Fw-200B version.
The militarized Fw-200C with its distinctive double-wheeled main gear and modified fuselage (belly bay, armament) still is deperately waiting for a modeler...

    @ Sunny:
    I still owe you a fictitious 1950's Lufthansa repaint, don't I?

    Cheers,
    Markus.

Hi Markus,In a word yes, but looking at all the other great skins you have given us since that discussion, I am simply hoping at some convenient time for you, that you will roll her in the shop. Certainly no rush.Cheers Stefan

    Here's the armed "C" model:

Markus, have you tried Greg Law's CFS2 Condor? It's something I keep meaning to do, didn't know if it would work or not.

I hope that someone is able to take on a luftwaffe model, I agree it is dearly missed.

    Thanks,

    T.

    Hi Folks,
Messed around with Greg's CFS2 Fw200, a while ago. It's a very old model but looks ok.

It's made for Fs98, so can't be shined or otherwise.

No prop disks, side door shows as still open, n.b if you install this ac do not disable some functions that Fs9 will ask, that way you will still get visble u/c and an opening bomb-bay (L key)

    Here's the link ..http://www.regshanger.com/Groundcrew...2%20Planes.php

Try Lawdogs (get at SOH) Bramo Fafnir quad sounds, which go well.

    Cheers Shessi

    Hi Mathias,

Them were the grand old days, indeed! :salute:

The Groundcrew (yourself, Greg, John W et al), great ac and skins. The Me110D/E/G are still the best 110s out there (for CFS2/3/FS9), and often flown.

Still an excellent site, glad Reg's Hangar keep it going, and many thanks for all you and the boys have given us.

    :ernae: Shessi

ps Well Andy, it's your call, but with no other choice(?) or maybe use it as an ai ac?

  15. #15
I think AI is a possibility, but that is about it unfortunately. What a shame.
    Andy

I loaded the CFS2 model and added the engine sounds. It's a shame that there isn't one for FS2004, I am enjoying it in CFS2 however.
