Hi Moses
Nice landing at Puno. I see you made sort of a quick turn from base to final. That RW is hard to find, especially in the fog.
Watchout for possible windshear at the end of RW 12. Ridge lift, created by the wind coming up off the lake, can spill off right just in front of the RW 12 to create, what is known in glider circles as, "ridge suck."
I have 8 maintenance points to show for it. ......8 on a landing and almost 2 again on a takeoff.
I see all other pilots that have gone throught Puno have not had a problem, but it's something that can happen if you (as in me...didn't) don't get enough speed built up to establish a good climb angle at the end of the RW to clear the trees on the hill.
Dil
Thanks Dil. Yes, I executed the Aviaco quick turn procedure into Puno. La Paz was fogged in just now. Glad there was a HH NDB there to ease the stress.

No sign of SCKP. Must have drifted too far south to spot it. Diverting to SCDA Iquique. Glad I thought to carry some extra fuel and jot down the NBD freqs at SCDA just in case...
Welp, in one piece at Iquique. The small group of passengers are not very happy about our diversion. I told them the airport was socked in (they bought it), and we had to continue on.
The FA screenie definitely tells the tale. Indeed had drifted south due to strong quartering headwind. Didn't want to over compensate but should have headed a bit more into the wind direction.

Arrived safely in Salta. Was a bit of an effort to keep from busting the alt restriction. Picked our way through the granite in the fading late afternoon light.
Time to let Miss Nellie rummage through the paperwork and join the others at the watering hole.
