Man... Best thing I have done with FS2004 already since installing on the laptop.

    GOODNESS!!!!

I highly recommend this for people with strong computers. Very nice...

Grab the HDE V2 package....it's even BETTER! Not sure how Pablo could make something better than V1, but he did! And still no frame rate hits, even when using the High Res clouds...okay, maybe a little when flying in heavy heavy heavy storms, but that hit is very minor...maybe a frame rate or 2 per second.

    V2 can be found on AVsim.com. hdev2.zip

Oh....I used V1 and V2 on my old system.....P4 3.0gig, 2 gig PC3200 RAM, 512meg Nvidia GeForce 7600GS, Win XP Home SP3.....and had NO frame rate hits, except when flying through heavy heavy storm clouds...and that was just 1 or 2, maybe 3, frames per second. ANyone with a system of that calibre and better should be able to use Pablo's V1 or V2 without a problem.

Thanks for the heads up OBIO. I had heard of his amazing work, but never tried it. I thought this one was his most recent.

Yup, HDE 2 is a must have, first thing I put back in after the fresh reinstall.

Probably one of the top freeware releases ever for FS9 IMO. Even on my old machine there is no performance issue (using the mid range definition textures).

The look of the dawn/dusk textures and how they blend to the horizon line is the most realistic looking sky I've ever seen for FS9.
