Oldpropfan on the loose in the SW Pacific

Short hop to shake the cobwebs out, leaving AGGN for AGGM-Munda. Time to get the Gooney in the air.

Found Munda without too much fuss and the weather is about as clear as it gets. Could get complacent if it stays like this.

Time to try a real leg, outbound AGGM-Munda to AYBK-Buka. Got supplies loaded up and the ditch kit just in case.

Safely down at AYBK-Buka, came in right at twilight, good thing it was a clear night.

Will relax here for the weekend. Found a crazy group stationed here from the Pacific NW, set themselves up a village back behind the airfield and called it :
saja kita sudah kembali ke Portland.

Cooking up some amazing things, coconut infused Ahi grilled on palm planks, a kelp and taro IPA they call Midnight Palm Climber. Looks like a wild time to be had by all, hope to see you on the beach.

Good to see a Gooney Bird in the mix.

Just might be my favorite plane: http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showth...acific-Islands

    Best of luck!

Sounds good. I got a case of beer in the back of the F4U...

In the air again, AYBK-Buka to AYTK-Tokua. Hopefully I won't get disqualified for not announcing my departure from Buka but we had to grab the plane out of impound and make a quick escape before the MP's blocked the strip. Just a little fallout from the weekends shenanigans, something about a 15ft flyover on an admiral's daughter while she was sunbathing with her friends.

    Departing AYTK-Tokua bound for AYKV-Kavieng.

On the ground AYKV-Kavieng, dodging trees on final seems to be a common hazard in this part of the world. We need to send out some chain saws with the next batch of Peace Corps people.

On the ground (barely, trees again) at CPG-Cape Gloucester. Lots of water this leg with some islands in the middle to let me know I was pretty much on course.

    And departing FIN for AYGR-Girua.

Well this isn't good, looks like FSX has told me I've come to an untimely end. Not quite sure what happened, got an "aircraft overstressed" on descent into Girua. Looks like I'll have to refly this one but not today.

Question, why is my flight time 49 min but my baton time is 5h 41m? Is that penalty time or just total time till I crashed?
