A Commemorative Event for the 2011 RTW will be held this Saturday

    EVENT:

A Celebration or Commemorative Event is held each year by the victors of the RTW ...

This year it will be our honor to be the host.

    WHERE:

At the Princess Juliana Airport (TNCM) at Saint Maarten anywhere at the airport except right in the runway in either FSX or FS9 ...

FSHost IP is 67.240.51.120 and Teamspeak 2 will be available at 67.240.51.120:8768

Password for both servers will be: ReggieF5421 ... copy and paste just that way

    WHEN:

    Saturday 26 February 2011 at 1700 ZULU

    THEME:

Theme for the event will be "Flying Circus" after one of the team challenges from this year's race.

Please join the session in any WW I aircraft like the ones allowed in the RTW ... if you don't happen to have any of those the default Curtiss Jenny will do ... and if you're in FSX with none of the above aircraft then just use the Piper Cub.

After a very brief welcome statement to our guests we will all or as many as desires take off for a short jaunt to nearby Clayton J. Lloyd Int'l Airport (TQPF) on Anguilla Island at Wallblake ... just over 10 NM away and either land or continue touring the area while sharing stories amongst ourselves about this year's race.

Drinks are on FlightSim ... :ernae:

Doug (350BC_Doug) has graciously prepared small scenery file for the occasion that will set up shelters with tables and benches, coolers and a firepit for grilling your own food or enjoying the food that will be catered by a local establishment.

His scenery file RTW2011_BBQ.zip can be downloaded here:

Look forward to seeing as many folks as are able to attend.

    Cheers,

Sorry Salt looks like I am going to miss it.

By the graces of good luck the server I am working on chose Wednesday to go down. I have been working on it for days trying to get it to work until the replacement arrives and tomorrow looks like it is bringing the same.

    Thought

A little bit late ... "The Story of My Life" ... but it would be good if each of us made our connection to include website we flew for during the race.

Not necessary, but I've found it helpful in the past.

Maybe [forumname - yourname - SOH] something like that.

    Just a thought.

    See you guys later!

    well, that was fun,
flying with a group of very nice, gracious pilots
    from FlightSim and AvSim.
PRB was also in the session representing SOH.
and i believe CrashAZ came in just as i was leaving.
there was no one from IFly.
as i was the only SOH member on TS2,
heaven forbid, i was our spokesman.
i congratulated all participants in the event.
i expressed how much fun i had,
especially, flying neck and neck up the Aleutians.
and that i look forward to the next go round.
i mentioned that there was talk
of running the race on a single server.
to which there was a positive response.
also, i invited folks to our spring event.

    Hello Smilo,

I'm sorry nobody from iFly made it in. I guess they may have had the same issue as I had, which was that I had to spend some time on real life things that got neglected last weekend. Anyway, I'll be keeping an eye open for other events and opportunities to talk to fellow RTW race pilots.

    All the best,
    Martin.

Thanks for properly representing SOH at the Stringbag Rally, smilo. I assumed I would be able to connect to the TS server with TS3. but I guess it I needed the TS2 client, which I didn't have installed. It was fun though!

    no worries Martin,
i am sure that the majority of the SOH pilots had the same issue.
last week definitely took a toll on us all and no doubt, many families as well.
my complements to those family members who put up with us
and as my wife puts it, "my obsession".

i look forward to seeing you at our spring event.

Paul, it was my privilege and honor to represent Team Outhouse.

I guess, now you know that TS2 and TS3 are separate programs.
i have both installed along with TS2 server.
TS2 is used Sundays for the AAC, a CFS1 multi-player squadron.

i don't know about you, but i'm starting to like the WWI planes.

Yep I made it in... also had the TS3 client installed so no voice for me. I flew out in the SE5 when I noticed some planes flying back from the original destination over to that small airfield on the other end of the island from TNCM.

Buzzed them a few times and then came in to land... no brakes lol... I forgot! Anyways pulled back out and in the midst of the turn... the network went down. I probably ended up in the water LOL!

Yep I will be keeping an eye out for future racing.

If SOH and iFly can just muster a couple more reliable pilots each things will be alot closer. Alaska - home at TNCM was the best bit. Thanks to all pilots from all teams.
A neck and neck RTW for the big number 10 the whole way would be a dream race. \m/
