OT: Back at DHAHC - Mosquito Museum

On the back of a family visit to St Albans, I popped ovr the M"% to South Mimms to the De Havilland Aircraft Heritage Centre or as most know it The Mosquito Museum. I particularly wanted to see how the FBVI was getting on, having been resting on it's undercart for the first time this summer. Although when we got there (I had the kids in tow), it was was back up on it's cradle again, I was able to see work being carried out on it.

BeauBrummie, When thy built the planes during the war did thy have an assembly line or did a crew assemble and stay with one plane.

    Thanks for the photos.

The Mossie was a little different in that small furniture factories around the country would build the wooden components which would then wind around country lanes on trucks to assembly points. The Mossie only got the green light from the Air Ministry in the first place for this reason, that it wouldn't absorb resources from other vital aircraft.
