FS2004 Aeroworx King Air B200 v.2.1 RNZAF Sneak Peak

    Hello there guys

I have started painting my first RNZAF aircraft on request from one of the forum members here to fill the virtual skies.

Thank you so much Wild Bill Kelso (Markus) for all your help in supplying me with your AFG 300 templates that made my life easier since most of the work has already been done!!!!! So all credit must go to you

Here is just a sneak peak so far of the paint scheme...

Any comments and feedback would be welcome as always...

Haha no problem, It was a pleasure doing this for you!

Here is some more screenies of the progress, there is a few things here and there to finish off the detail but it is 90% complete to my liking.

In the screenies below some of the pics have green circles to show where problem areas are that I cannot paint unfortunately since its inherent in the model.

    They included the following problems:
    * Wing Fence will stay white since its inherent in the model texturing
    * Fin Flash buckled due to stretched and warped texture
    * Nose cheatline shifted a bit above the fuselage line
    * Bottom directional fins still need to add the light blue cheat line, its a bit tricky to do that but will try my best!
    * Nose gear doors cannot contain the last letters of the serial since it is mirrored both ways since its inherent in the model texturing.

I hope the texture still comes out good to your liking!

And as always any feedback or comments would be welcome

    This looks already great, Morras!
    Very glad I could help.

Interesting to see the mentioned mapping issues on a payware model - I think the AFG team did a better job in this respect, having several repaint varieties on their mind...

    Concerning the nose cone:
The slightly shifted position of the dark blue cheatline (it's the legendary "half a pixel", I presume...) only becomes visible when observed from very close - I think it's one of those inevitable "glitches" we must live with. But maybe the beginning tip of the two light blue lines should be shifted a little backwards (for about 3 or 4 px) to stay clear of the seperate nose cap. This nose cap has a different scale, eh? I hate such things...
Have you already tried to mark and copy the position of the nose lines from an other repaint, having comparable lines? I sometimes put an already finished paint as a seperate layer to my masters, just to see how others did the trick.

Isn't it funny that it takes a South African painter, using templates "Made in Germany" to accomplish a New Zealand repaint? What would we do without the Internet...?

    Cheers,
    Markus.

My thoughts too...truly a "Global Village".
Isn't Aeroworx a South African outfit?
And there's more - this repaint might include some input from a Kiwi who's done some work on the instrument panel, too!

Morras, Gabriel Antonio Dorneles did a beautiful repaint of PP-ERG which has a cheat line going into the nose cone.
Perhaps overlaying that as a guide might be of help?

Those screens look mighty tempting...I knew this one was worth waiting all those years for.

Your repaints coming along very nicely.

I always wanted to do a few repaints on that one.
.....I wonder if this will work? (wink)

I might look into purchasing that one of a little stork dropped something my way

    Charl,
there are, or were, two different organisations called Aeroworx. The South African one continues to make and release scenery, mostly South African. The one which made the King Air was American, and after spending some considerable time rebuilding and upgrading the FS9 version into an FSX version, they rather suddenly decided to stop, "sell" the project to Flight1 and close the business. That was around two years ago, yet I don't think that I've seen the FSX version available anywhere yet,
    hope that helps,
    Ro

Thanks Rohan, that clears up a little confusion then.
"Global Village" means there can only be so many Main Streets I suppose

    Hey Morras,

    Very nice repaint, buddy

Isn't it funny that it takes a South African painter, using templates "Made in Germany" to accomplish a New Zealand repaint? What would we do without the Internet...?
That's what I like about this hobby. It allows you to collaborate with and make friends with people from many walks of life

On the subject of Aeroworx, does anybody know what happened to their Harvard?

    Regards,
