Hello Chaps, I came across this brief snippet of info which implies that KG40 used this bird briefly
Kampfgeschwader 40
II. Gruppe: 4./KG40
In late 5.43 began conversion to Me 410 destroyers. In 6.43 redesignated V./KG2
But I can't find any more info on their operational history with KG40.
Does anyone have any ideas? It would make a great addition to the Sea Eagle if I could validate this info with more background.

Hi Jeff,
I already have two of those profiles, the reason I didn't do any was because they all used flame dampers, which the model doesn't have! If your not fussy I could send you something?
BTW mailled you on the other subject!
Hi John - I'm not fussy, either! ;-) If I were you, I'd upload them anyway albeit with a caveat.

Hope this helps. But these appear to have RLM-75(?) over RLM-76(?).
Looks like standard day camouflage of RLM 74 and 75 on the uppersurfaces, with 66 sprayed over the standard 76 underneath.

That's what I was driving at, you put it better than I did.
These appear to have the greyish "Type 5" fighter scheme and the others look to have the greenish standard splinter scheme - all sprayed over RLM-76. Are they both correct? Either would be welcome, but it makes you wonder what the artist was thinking. Was he copying a photograph or a description or just guessing?
Probably a bit of both. There is a limit to how much you can deduce from poor quality black-and-white photographs, especially when the tone of some of the colours is virtually identical. Orthochromatic film, which was still used a fair bit, doesn't help at all either as it renders the colours completely differently to panchromatic film...
