personally..i feel it needs to be finished ....those of us who want it ( badly) will donate to the bandwidth drive once again to either make up to the cost..repay totaly or pay into a fund for NEXT YEARS drive when the plane is ready as it seems the plane is still a few months out...

its Ikies call ofcourse..but what would it hurt to have money in an account earning intrest towards next years needs?...is that against the rules for this situation?

I've already made a small donation to the Bandwidth Drive itself just to support SOH. If a minimum amount above what I have already given gets me the P-61 I will gladly give a bit more.

I feel out of place with all the names becoming red as noted for contributing. At this point in time, I can not afford too. As soon as I can, I will.

Rob, there's a picture for you in my folder of the file browser labeled p-61_rear_pit. And Pam, there's a file for gun effects there for you.

Oleboy, as it looks like you are part of the P-61 project seems to me you are doing more to generate funds for SOH than you may think ...

Same here. I already donated, and will do so again for the P-61 (with an amount that is comparable to normal payware prizes) when it is released. Good work has to be credited, my opinion.

    Cheers,

    Big Twins

After careful evaluation I conclude I am a "BIG TWIN" fan. I suppose from a freudian perspective it goes back to my early childhood and Mommie.....but that is another issue entirely..

I love the B25, A26, A20, B26, F7F, DeHavilland Mossie, Do17, JU88A, Boeing247, LockheedP38s, L10a, D18s, A11, etc. Soooo long story short I am looking forward to the completion of this project and adding it to my hangar of old, slow, noisy, vibrator shaking, teeth rattling "BIG TWINS" My congrats to the P61 project team for showing great persistance under stressful times. I'm sure this offering will be well received amongst all the SOH community..if not absolutely coveted by all. If nothing else it has to the the longest thread I've ever waded through....Great work Warchild and team...

    LC...
I love every single one of those planes you mention, but i have to confess, the P-61 has become a total obsession. Its big, its fast ( as fast as a P-51 ), and its uniquely beautiful in its own way. it grows on you.. Seeps its way through your pores and becomes a part of you.. .. There is nothing quite like screaming through a dive at over 450 mph in a thirty thousand pound freight train and then nimbly pulling out at the last minute and scream along at 400 mph over the tree tops.. ..

I need a gauge.. I'm finding that up above 25000 feet my rpm will steadily increases beyond the engines failure point. this is not good.. So i need a gauge that will blow the engine up.. maybe i'll get ucky and find one, but i'm open to contributions.....

    Pam,
after this open hearted statement, there is absolutly no excuse for _not_ flying the SOH P-61!
    Can't wait.

And as aforementioned, this is the longest thread I ever saw, and one of the most interesting ones, by the way. What a wealth of knowledge and dedication you guys are packing into this is simply amazing.

    Cheers,
    Mark

I'm not exactly what you'd call an 'active' member of this forum. However, I do find it to be about the best there is.

Just wanted to say to Pam and all the P-61 team... a GREAT BIG thanks for not just your work and dedication in the FS community, but the enthusiastic way in which you do it. It seems to inspire others to do the same, and without the likes of you and the 'others', this community would be very much emptier.

    So THANK YOU

Thanks Mark . Thats was also wonderful to read..
There's a flip side to her as well. She's a Lady, and like any Lady, she takes involvement from the pilot.. For the past several days i've been worrying about RPMs as you read above.. Now, most planes, you never have to worry about that. you just get in them and go. This plane however isnt quite so simple.. At critical altitude, the rpm's will quickly rise above the engines breaking point so you have to keep an eye on them, and lower your MP and adjust the props, or decend.. She loves being pampered..
I'm currently looking for a gauge that will cause engine failure at 3300 rpms. i think i found one but I need to contact its creator and see if we can use it.. Keepung my finger crossed..
