Think you mean Skyhawk and Jankees for the repaints? Or am I reading things wrong again lol

Crashaz, thats odd, all the original animations were correct ?. Fliger747 did the orginal beta FDE so I wonder if theres a switch or tag in the air or cfg that might be messing with the animations ?.
As far as I can recall the spoilers are not spoilers, there lift dump devices and used for roll control, not speed reduction, they only raise when the corresponding aileron raises, ie singularily not together, might be wrong as its a few years ago but do seem to recall some odd quirk with them and some tricky animation to achieve what was required.

From what I've read yeah the spoilers acted individually to roll the A/C, for "Better control at all speeds" Small ailerons gave the pilot the "feel" of the controls. In fact it seems on the original design:
No ailerons were present. Aside from the full-span retractable "Zap flaps," all control of the aircraft about the roll axis was maintained through the use of curved, tapered spoilerons, of approximately ten feet in length and six inches in width (in overhead plan view) each. They were located outboard of the outer edge of each nacelle in overhead plan view, approximately one-quarter the length of the outer wing (the section of wing outboard of the edge of each nacelle furthest from the aircraft's centerline) and offset towards the wing leading edge approximately one third the wing's chord from the trailing edge, running towards the wing-tip approximately half the length of the outer wing. Operation was as follows: the spoileron in the wing being turned towards rotated out of the wing's upper surface into the airstream, disrupting effects due to Bernoulli's principle and reducing lift over that wing, causing it to drop.
Not sure yet which version received the small ailerons..
On speed:
The P-51D's top speed was at least ~60mph faster than the P-61A/B(322 mph @ sea level, 355 mph @ 10,000 ft,369 mph @ 20,000ft for the A). The P-61C would come close to matching and is what you give. The P-61C did not see any combat. Many pilots of the C thought it was less manueverable than the A and B.

Well, from what i can tell its ony the elevator that effected.. I'm putting a small vid together that will show all the moving pieces though so maybe you folks can see something i might be missing ( i was flying in the canyons and had to watch out for trees n::chuckles:: )..
Wow, I've been reading this thread since the start! I'm very excited!!The 61 is one of the coolest, least recognized aircraft ever. I wish I had some talent to help. But I'll look forward to flying it thats for sure!!
If government was the answer, it was a stupid question!
OK guys.. Alpha Zero is ready for deployment. Please PM me or email me or meet me on skype, yahoo or MSN..
I will have a short film posted later on showing the alpha version in action.. Testers should be observing animations and over all model quality.. Feedback on the flight model can come after youve flown it..
Known issues..
The plane sits one inch off the ground.. No worries.. I'll take care of it in Alpha 01
Dangerdave has offered to set up a teamspeak for us to help us streamline communication. it will also help in version tracking and exchanging files.. after this release is deployed i'll be working with him to set that up..
N2056 is going to work on the gauges as he can.. his problem is that we dont have a shell/tub for the cockpit.. i cant do 3D. So i need someone who can model us a 3D cockpit.. i promise, you name WILL go down in history,,,, somewhere.. along with mine and everyone elses..![]()
As Warchild has stated I am willing to contribute as time will allow. I have to get the Seneca done, and I have also signed on with Milton's Tigercat project to work on the FSX version of that plane...so mostly I am hoping to assist with putting 3d gauges in the P-61. I think that would be a nice feature to have on this plane.![]()
Hi mike..
No, its not a switch in the air file or config file.. truth told i can make the plane do anything except fly backwards in those files, but the animations are tied directly to the model and the executable via direct connect.. The problem with the elevator is a common one that is seen when porting over models that were designed for fs9. Its one of the reasons we dont see an awful lot of fs9 port overs.. I know David at iris has expressed this many times and i've read others expressing it also.. The only solution is to reverse the animation order in Max and recompile..
I've just spent several hours making a video and being close up to the model in flight while doing so, and the elevator appears to be the only thing out of place.. Everything else outside the known propeller issue looks fine..
The vid will be ready in about 2 hours..

Ahh that old chestnut, I've had that before with axis reversed between sims.
Truth be told the original mode should have been FSx ready and not a port over, perhaps I sent the wrong mesh to Crashaz, not to worry, sounds like its all going together ok.

truth be told, it doesnt matter to me if it was the FS9 model or the FSX model. the model is simply beautiful. I honestly dont think i could be more excited than i am right now.. Yeah, its true that the roll rate is low, and theres a lot of work to be done by me, but Alpha Zero came through in flying colors and the supportive response as well as the team we've started putting together have been priceless. I'm beyond stoked..
