    Here Fishie Fishie Fishie!

Went down to the pond today....there was just enough open space among the floating filementous algae to cast a 4 inch white shad tail worm, Texas rigged. Caught this nice looking Large Mouth Bass. Not a big one, 12 to 14 inches. Very healthy looking fish with great coloring.

in situations like those i prefer a scum frog: http://southernlure.goodbarry.com/tackle_box

or i'll fish the largest worm i have rigged carolina style without the weight, or, i also have a secret weapon.

go to wal mart or somewhere and buy a cheap stick fish, similar to a this rapala:

the reason you buy a cheap one is because you want the biggest one you can find. 8"-12" long, for surf casting, but has to be a floater. remove the treble hooks and put smaller ones on it.
then take a pair of pliers and break off the bill. now it won't dive. you can use it like a spook.
the beauty of it is, you can cast it directly into the worse snags you can find, because it only cost a dollar or two and you don't care about losing it. those places are where the big uns live.

The Bass was released back into the pond. I am a Catch and Release kind of guy.
