"Chopper Pilot" - Army Helicopter Pilot Training Film

RoughLandings over at Hovercontrol found this 60's gem of a Defense Department Training film on YouTube.
I thought I'd pass it along over here...

Typical educational film with such wonderfully written lines like,

"The student watches how it's done...
The strange business of hovering hundreds of pounds of machinery, above the ground.
Hanging on a set of...whistling blades...

For a Hummingbird it's...natural!
For a MAN, strapped into a vibrating seat, while something that roars and swishes, picks him up and holds him.
It's an EXPERIENCE!"

Does the same guy do all of these narratives. It is the same voice over and over.

Great flick, but the whole time I was watching all I could think about was how HOT they must have been. Cotton flight suits and leather gloves in the Texas and 'bama heat down low. At least in a fixed wing you could climb and stay cool. You can still see all of those abandoned Ft Wolters aux fields that are between Mineral Wells and Ft Worth. They're everywhere.
