    Excellent, will test too !
    The concentration of the parameters into a unique file is definitely great

    Does anyone have the parameters for the default Cessna 172?

    Here's the numbers from my 172S POH:

    Maximum power :180HP@2700rpm (no time limit)

    Max RPM: 2700

    Max CHT: 500F

    Max oil temp: 245F

    VFE: (flaps 10) 110

    VFE (flaps 10 to full) 85

    There are no takeoff or climb power limitations, aside from the 2700RPM limit.

    In cruise, the mixture must be leaned for operations above 75% power, but with the mixture rich, full power may be used.

    Keep in mind that the real world G1000 includes a "lean assist" feature missing from FSX, and the sim also has a fundamentally wonky method of simulating mixture settings.

    Since the aircraft is fuel injected, carb ice is impossible.

    Thanks azflyboy, much appreciated!!

    What could the values be for:
    -Maximum Continuous MP with Lean Mixture (in Hg) --> ??
    -Maximum Continuous RPM with Lean Mixture (rpm) --> ????
    -Maximum Continuous MP with Rich Mixture (in Hg) --> ??
    -Maximum Continuous RPM with Rich Mixture (rpm) --> ????
    -Climb MP (in Hg) --> ??
    -Climb RPM (rpm) --> ????
    -Take-Off MP (in Hg) --> ??
    -Take-Off RPM (rpm) --> ????

    Thanks in advance,
    Anneke

    Just set large values where there is no limitation.

    Here's what I would use:

    -Maximum Continuous MP with Lean Mixture (in Hg) --> 99
    -Maximum Continuous RPM with Lean Mixture (rpm) --> 2700
    -Maximum Continuous MP with Rich Mixture (in Hg) --> 99
    -Maximum Continuous RPM with Rich Mixture (rpm) --> 2700
    -Climb MP (in Hg) --> 99
    -Climb RPM (rpm) --> 2700
    -Take-Off MP (in Hg) --> 99
    -Take-Off RPM (rpm) --> 2700

    Use the Power limitations module for the 75% power limit on Lean mixture:

    Rated Engine Power (HP) --> 180
    Max Continuous Power with Lean Mixture (%) --> 75
    Max Continuous Power with Rich Mixture (%) --> 999
    Maximum Climb Power (%) --> 999

    Essentially the limitations mean you can't kill the engine of a 172... which seems to be the case for most normally aspirated piston engines.
    However, flying with reduced power may extent TBO I guess.

    With normally aspirated engines it's likely you'll be cruising at <75% a lot of the time anyway, even with full throttle, as soon as you're flying above 5/6000 ft due to the power loss with altitude.

    If anyone is looking to find specific info, the possible sources are too extensive to list but some web searching can produce very specific info such as this:
    Adherence to the R-985 Specific and General Operating Instructions (Vol 1) is essential, in particular:

    • While ground testing engine, do not exceed 232 degrees Celsius cylinder head temperature. Temperatures above 200 degrees C should be confined to the minimum possible duration.
    • Prior to Take-Off, ensure that cylinder head temperature is below 200 degrees Celsius to allow for temperature rise during takeoff.
    • Do not exceed 260 degrees Celsius during Climb and reduce cylinder head temperatures to below 232 degrees for Cruise flight
    • Following flight and before shutdown, idle the engine until cylinder head temperature is less than 200 degrees Celsius

    Operators and maintainers must take every precaution to avoid operating at excessive cylinder head temperature and excessive manifold pressure or incorrect (MAP) manifold absolute pressure-rpm ratios. These conditions will likely overstress the cylinders and other engine parts.

    other sources may include the actual Operating Manuals ( which are often for sale from the after-market

    hey Gunter??
    I'm not sure what the rest of the team thinks, but can we use these on the SOH P-61????

    Hi warchild,
    definitely. It'd be a pleasure to contribute to any SOH project.
    Use, modify as needed.
    Just holler if you need any help.

    Well I haven't heard anything new since this 1.2 version.
    This unique parameter file is quite handy. Recently I have set some parameters for Piglet's Skyraider, and it worked like a charm
    I have also created a copy of this parameter file that I edited to remove some of the comments and higlight the parameter fields, so that I could print it on a single sheet of paper. I use it as a template to write the parameters of the planes I want to "damage"
    Of course I need to set the font to a very small size, but it works...

    Hi Anneke,
    nothing much to add. v1.2 is still the last version.

    Not been working on the gauges much, and not even flown a lot with them. Too much other stuff keeping me busy, though I feel there is still quite a lot to tweak.

    Cheers,
    Gunter

    REALLY GREAT, the cream on the pie, this REALengine1.2 ! I will use ALL the options !
    Infact I only fly pistonengine planes like MAAM DC3, R4D-6, C47 and Lockheed L10E, Vega, Connie.
    I search on the net for power- cruisesetting charts for above mentioned planes, but is hard to find the right preformences such as Max. Continues RPM/MP @ rich mixture settings. I will use now METO setting for this. Is that correct ?
    Where can I find those preformences ?! I also noticed that infact EVERY preformence for the SAME plane in every website is different, that makes it more difficult to choose the right one.
    OR maybe it makes it more easy

    What a great tool, thanks! Now does anyone have it set up for a Connie or something close to that?
