    Got it! Thank you.

    Just looking at the screenshots on the JF websit I can see two errors - There is no needle on the oxygen tank indicator and there is a black strip covering part of the oxygen altitude indicator.

    The needle appears when you turn on the system. The "black strip" is actually a metal bar, screwed to the front of the gauge face. We don't know why. If you do your research, you will find it so on the real thing.

    SADT, the screenshot you've seen is unfortunately out of date (from an earlier beta build). I'll get that updated asap.

    This is what that panel looks like now.

    The more we learn, the more we admire.

    Here's another question, this time about the flight model. The Mk. I Spitfires had some disadvantages, relative to the Luftwaffe counterparts. If they flew inverted for any length of time, the carburetor got flooded and the engine quit. And if they exceeded 350 mph, the controls froze up. Were you able to model this? I'm finding that I can fly upside-down all day long; and while I can overstress the airframe, I never lose aileron authority.

    Both of those can be adjusted in the airfile. I have asked our FD guy what the story may be.

    Thats how the Germans used to get away, by nosing over pulling negative G, we couldn't follow because of the gravity flow carbs, I believe the manoeuvre was called a "bunt" or something like that.

    Thanks for the HU dswo. The fuel metering entry in the CFG is incorrect and should be set from 2 to 1 as:

    fuel_metering_type=1

    in the piston engine section of the CFG.

    Edit: Hold the phone! That will reduce the engine to idle but not cut it. We are working on the correct code. In the meantime stay upright...

    We will issue some sort of NOTAMS for current owners.

    The AVSIM review is up now: http://www.avsim.com/pages/0910/JustFlight/BOB.html. I'm sorry this took so long. I was waiting for the patch; and then, within an hour of it coming, I got hit with some real-world stuff that still has me staggering. (Nothing health-related, thank the Almighty. But miles to go before I sleep, and miles to before I sleep.)

    I'm grateful to AH and JF for giving me the opportunity to review this product, and then for responding to my questions: not just with words, but with new airfiles, and eventually new VCs. Their dedication to this project, and to the history of these fighters, shows in every aspect of the finished product, from the documentation to the patch.

    Nice review, hopefully the patch will be available on the JF website soon along with the corrected Hurricane paintkit.

    Thanks for the review David but I need to take issue over the point about the apparently untextured aileron inboard ends. In reality they were white with a yellow segment. Why? so that novice pilots could assess the amount of over compression of the aileron when overcoming stick forces. If you use full aileron deflection, you wioll see the yellow segment appear which means it is time to back off and use a little rudder to help the poor thing out.

    Really looking forward to the Hurricane paintkit. Hope I don't have to look too far forward.
