Nope, don't have a clue as to where it's at, but it is startin to take shape a look real good
Fireman's prayer
Give me the strength to save a life,Whatever be its age
Help me to embrace a little child, Before it is too late
Or save an older person from The horror of that fate
Enable me to be alert and Hear the weakest shout
And quickly and efficiently To put the fire out
I want to fill my calling and To give the best in me
To guard my every neighbor And protect their property
And if according to your will I have to lose my life
Please bless with your protecting hand My children and my wife.

Looking good Snuffy. Making pure terrain must be a real bear... So much to do and add and all..

All those blue dots as you know are switches, most of them are built on a 1.6 gradient. Talk about a b*tch!

Welp I've laid off laying track for obvious reasons:

Looking good Snuffy!
Those wheels are pretty sophisticated on the insides. Shows some good modelling technique there. In the old days, we would have used Graphics to coat that side and replicate all those curved fins.

Lomg Island from the jersey side???
Everything your doing is looking incredible .. I'm loving watching this grow..
Pam
No, Sorry Pam, Not Jersey Shore ... yer too far north, but certainly on the right side of the country.
Thanks for the interest in what's happening with my mess I'm making.
Some of you may be wondering what makes all that gear work ... Well I threw together the boiler for it yesterday.
Here's an update.

Wow Snuffy! Impressive! I didn't know you liked trains as well.
Good Stuff! Thanks for sharing your project with us!
Thanks C9G ...
Trains are after all machinery. And I am as you know, a Mechanical Engineer, who works in the boiler industry ... and oddly this engine I'm working on is a boiler.
Here's an update shot:

Snuffy,
OK, that's GOTTA be the City Point RR.
Crash
And we finally have a winner!!
Yup, its the City Point landing in 1863/64 When the Union Army was at its peake during the siege of Petersburg.
I plan to eventually expand my railroads from this point and cover more of the other inter connecting rail systems from Petersburg, like the RFP, Weldon, Danville, and P&N.

Snuffy,
My favorite stretch of track! Thought I recognized the engine house in the other thread. Been collecting documentation and parts for some time to make an N-scale layout of that line from Petersburg to City Point. Didn't know this was possible in MSTS! I'll have to dig out my old copy see if I can get it to run on my current PC. Inspirational!
Crash
Hey Crash,
Yeah, I've always wanted to model it as well only in H-O scale, problem was always money and space. To do the layout justice you know.
Well its quite doable in virtual reality. I got all the DEM info, did some KLM with google and things are going along swell.
MSTS will provide you with much more period equipment rolling stock wise, unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an interest in generating steam era stuff for the U.S. with the RW group.
If I could just get a handle on how to go from modeling to in game, I could provide what the RW sim world is missing. Oh well.
I have a pretty decent map of City Point that's about 3/4"=100' with all the main buildings, the track, and the entire encampment layout. I've been building from that.
Here's an update on the beach yard.
And here's an overall of what I've got so far ...

I know some members of the TS community. Talon is at sea right now... but I can find some others.
Still muttering under my breath about Aces closing and losing TS2... we got a sneak peek @ SimCon and I could not wait to see it in action. Wanted to see the Great Northern and Santa Fe routes in action. Also a fan of Southern Pacific.
