    RailWorks 2010?

    Hey all,

Have you seen the ad's for the new Railworks 2010? It really looks like a well done complete redo of MSTS. I may have to break down and get it. The sounds, VC, 2D panel, etc, look amazing, not to mention the models.

The only drawback is that its all in German, voices and things, etc. It may not work on some English computers.

You can read more on it at www.aerosoft.com in the Trains / english section.

It's the same Railworks we already have. German version will introduce new german rolling stock (BR52!!!), some fixes to german signalling, etc. All new content from this version will be available for free to registered users via Steam.

I have been immensely enjoying this sim. Very impressive.

It has some very cool features, such as LOD-ization where things appear as they get into range, from very close objects textures, to houses and forests appearing far away. Some cool settings features too that can manage textures quality and range LOD controls. Mine is about mid way on sliders with a few raised so that performance is still very fast and smooth. (I must have smooth.....)

Some screenshots from online. I still need to take some. I keep getting distracted from taking screenshots...

I have been running some of the older routes and engines as well. Had the chance to run the Black 5's. Wild ole engines, lol.. Awesome model work. I need the new version of the Flying Scottsman.

I wonder if we can transfer in MSTS tracks and routes into Railworks2010? Kind of like putting in FS9 birds into FSX?

Ok... I have a question. I purchased the Electric 390 Train system last night for RailWorks 2010 from SteamGames.com where I purchased RW2010 also.

It has supposedly downloaded and installed into my system, but dang if I can figure out how to see where its at, where the engines and routes are, etc...

I tried activating it (I think) via the little arrow buttons in the 'Packages' window, but that did nothing.

Anyone know how to work/manage the addons that install into RW2010?

    Many thanks for any input.

Railworks and Railsimulator are very very similar and I have crossed over stuff from RS into RW, but the MSTS stuff is not compatable with either in to or out of ...

If you buy individual components, you will not see them in pre-existing senarios. In order to see your new stuff, you have to either create your own system and install your components, or you need to open an existing system and edit the senario and insert the component.

    Make sense?

I haven't bought any DLC yet, but I have some of them - they were bundled in Steam limited offer when I bought RW. Everything was downloaded automatically, and new scenarios just appeared on list.

Thanks Empeck. I did find it. I had thought I had to Install it. Turned up with only 1 route and it was on the bottom of a long list of routes.

Thanks Snuffy. Thats good to know.

Man... This 390 is just awesome... It leans in turns, has a quieter soundpack.. Only 1 problem. How do I drive it on other routes.. lol.

You have to edit the route and make a new consist .... any of the websites will tell ya how to do that as well as the creator's manual should tell you how.
