    Icon22 Boeing 737-200 Engine Exhaust

    Hope someone can help ,

    Recently downloaded a freeware Boeing 737-200 which I installed into the FSX aircraft folder without any trouble. ( Flys and sounds terrific )

    When we start the engines and hit the "I" key for the exhaust smoke to appear , this is where I encounter the problem .

    The exhaust smoke does not trail from the engines but in fact it ends up streaming from above and below the aircraft's fuselage.

    Is there a tweak I can do in the CFG file under smoke system to correct this ?

    Go into your aircraft.cfg see if theres anything in there about [smoke] and paste it in here so I can see it.

    Cheers Shylock,

    [SMOKESYSTEM]
    smoke.0= -2.50, -13.00, -17.00, fx_hjg_707
    smoke.1= -2.50, -13.00, 17.00, fx_hjg_707
    //smoke.2= 3.00, -17.00, 48.75, B738_contrails
    //smoke.3= 3.00, -17.00, -48.75, B738_contrails

    Wink

    Hmmmm. I don't have the plane so I'm just going to guess here but try this:

    [SMOKESYSTEM]
    smoke.0= 0, -16.1, -3.2, fx_hjg_707
    smoke.1= 0, 16.1, -3.2, fx_hjg_707
    //smoke.2= 3.00, -17.00, 48.75, B738_contrails
    //smoke.3= 3.00, -17.00, -48.75, B738_contrails

    Copy and paste this into place. Let know if it worked.

    If its just the usual portover bug it should just be a matter of moving the first number to the end as Aces changed the order of the coordinates for FSX.
    Try this.

    smoke.0= -13.00, -17.00, -2.50, fx_hjg_707
    smoke.1= -13.00, 17.00, -2.50, fx_hjg_707

    Icon22 Exhaust Smoke

    Shylock & Dangerous Beans,

    Sure appreciate you taking a moment to look at this problem I'm having.

    Were halfway there !!

    I tried both of your suggestions and they produced the same result ...... smoke trailing out of the left engine ( super duper ) but no smoke trailing from the right engine :(

    Any thoughts ??

    Cheers for now

    Strange that should have worked or at least got it close.
    I'v attaches a shot useing those coordinates and the default smoke effect on the default ultralight.

    Also heres what the FSX SDK has to say about the coordinates.

    "Positions of aircraft components are given relative to the datum reference point for the aircraft, in the order: longitudinal, lateral, vertical. The convention for positions is positive equals forward, to the right, and vertically upward. Units are in feet."

    Note, the datum reference point it refers to is usually the centre of the aircraft model as determined in the modelling software it was made in.

    If that still doesn't help give me a link to the plane and I'll take a look at it to see if I can sort it out for you.

    Same coordinates I posted before, works perfect here.
    smoke.0= -13.00, -17.00, -2.50, fx_hjg_707
    smoke.1= -13.00, 17.00, -2.50, fx_hjg_707

    I'd love an early steam gauge 737 but I just cant fly without a VC so I wont be keeping this one.
    Shame as the exterior model look quite nice, Love the sounds so I'll keep them incase I find a use for them.
