    Exclamation Modified CFS3 MTB's by 01-Driver

Steve has been doing some work on upgrading the 'ship' ai MTB's . Following the success of the Leigh light he's mounted a spotlight onto an MTB and modifed the guns to use the 50 cal incendiary guns and fire torpedos. Steve's done a great job in increasing the interaction of the boats, The stock 'ship' MTB's were not aggressive and were cannon fodder. Now they engage targets with guns and torpedos. In my view is this gives the mission builders even more choice. When watching this video, remember no one is driving these boats.

I've uploaded them to my site, if you have the new ETO 1.31 update then you won't need the extra effects file.

Hey Jeff was the exploding ship in the video caused by a torpedo from the MTB?

    Hello,
May we use these ships to replace the ones available in MAW? and run the MTB missions available in MAW?
    Thanks in advance

The prpblem would be Emile is that hey rely upon effects created for ETO, so 'stock' MAW will not have the relevant effects lines in its effects file. If you knew which lines were necessary, you could copy thos from the supplied effects file and copy then into the MAW file. I however don't know which they are, steve would though.

That looks terrific thanks, Beau! I love a bit of ship - on - ship action.

One thing I noticed is the ships did not seem to be firing on the MTB's. I am sure that could be changed if necessary by editing the gun xdp files to broaden the "Target Category" for the shells.

One thing I've tried in one install is to swap out one of the 20 or 40 mm flak stations in the larger warships. In their place I've added the same calibre but non-dedicated to flak - ie made the gun fire shells rather than flak rounds, and ensure the target category is broadened to include ships as well as aircraft. But I didn't do any testing to see if it worked! These MTBs would be ideal....

It would be neat to see streams of bright tracers arc out towards the MTBs once they got into range
    cheers
    D

I would like to corrrect the above error. These boats are not stock CFS3 boats, but they are used in ETO. They are models by Greg from his MTB/S-boot project. Greg was the first to get them to fire torps. Steve's work was to make the guns fire at ships and land targets more aggressively. Steve also worked on the torp effects you can see here.

Here are the two models, you can see the difference is significant.

    Guys,

I found out today that Greg had already done this mod for the MTB some time ago and it is better than the one I did. There is no reason for the duplication so I have asked Jeff to remove the package I did and we can provide a link so you can get the original boats by Greg.

    Sorry for the duplication,

My Suggestion would be to keep steves setup for ETO installs and my older ones for CFS3 installs.
