We've started working towards the spring event. Hopefully there will be enough interested pilots for this speedy challenge.

Not even a hint as to what aircraft we're using? Although the term speedy is giving me some ideas.....
Whatever it is, I'm looking forward to it!
You have hit upon the right clue in the sentence (speedy). Think 1950s(ish), shop heaters, flying vacuum cleaners, suckin & blowin, kerosine, etc... :salute:
MB: GIGABYTE GA-X299 UD4 PRO ATX

HP Reverb G2
Also think subsonic (less than Max Mach 1). I'm personally looking at some late 40s aircraft, but I'm not out to win it, just having fun.
I suggested Wright Flyers across the Atlantic but was overruled on it. :d

Keep in mind that we're just starting to get an idea of where we're going with this one, so things are still in a state of flux. Once we get some hard details, we'll pass them along. Mainly we're trying to gauge interest at this point.

Interest? Here, here!
Looking forward to another excellent SOH event.
Provided I can get my Gee Bee to Melbourne before that.
Don't count on me to win...
Gunter
Gunter, don't count on me to win either. I tend to pick aircraft that aren't front runners but interest me in other ways.

I will watch thissa space.
:salute: Count me in.
Ditto me!
Just letting folks know that we're still working on it. Lots of ideas, but trying to just go with the best ones.

:salute:Just a little test flight of 1623 miles in the B-47. Lots of black smoke on take off and this bugger sure likes to drink fuel. Not a bad flight.
Am interested to hear more details, beyond that I'll remain uncommitted.
