Passed IPC, can now fly solo

Well, today I passed my Instrument Proficiency Check on the 310R. This was part of the requirement by the insurance company for me to fly solo in the 310R. Needed the practice also as it's been a long time since I had to fly simulated single engine while on the hood. First couple of instrument approaches weren't all that good.

However, I took off the hood and took the time to fly some visual maneuvers and single engine demo's which got me back into synch flying the aircraft. So, put the hood back on and knocked out three on critical single engine that were pretty good.

So, I'm now good to fly the 310R solo and I'm planning to take the family up tomorrow morning.

Also need to rehack my night clock solo.

    Cheers,

    Ken

I'll second that...Flying on Sunday is way better than a Sunday drive.

You're making me jealous, dude. I haven't flown in a month and if I do it'll probably be in a beat up 172. The 310 has a very classic style about it.

Took advantage of it and knocked out my night AMEL recency of experience. Did three take offs and landings. It was really sweet!

Honestly, I'm finding the 310R easier to land than the Skyhawk. It's just so stable and relatively immune to the variable of thermals and gusts than the Skyhawk. Plus this one has XM Weather and Radio. So, since I had the pattern all to myself and it's a non-towered airport at Portales, I turned on the radio and listened to Classic Rock while I did the landings!

    Now that's sweet!
