    Icon22 FP textures

Hmm, I have been reading these threads with interest and I have hesitated to venture into the conversation, but why not.

There is a freeware B-17 in ETO that is accessible to everyone and no one has to pay for it. May not be the model you want but it may be useful. Second there are 4 Lancasters in ETO that are free to all (these are not the Lancasters at AvH/GC).

Of course you must take my musings with a grain of salt since I do have a very biased view point. I don't like to pay for things that are available for free.

Ted, thanks for that comment! Which is very fair. I for one had not realised how much the ETO Lancasters have been improved over the AvH ones, cockpits in particular.

The good bit is that skins for the one will fit the other with only a minimum of modification.

Ted re-worked the ETO version texture maps quite a bit, I'd be surprised if the FP fitted that well? (If that is what you meant?)

I'm biased like Ted, but I think the ETO model is by far, a much better mesh then the FP version!

Need to take a look. It had been a long time since I'd looked so closely at the FP version, and I was surprised to find how badly the external model parts fitted together...

In fact, if one of you two can stick me a 2048 wireframe for the basic Lanc in the mail, I'll do more than take a look, time permitting.

It would be nice to have some B2 and some more H25 skins.

Several of the old RCAF 408 sqn ones of EQ-G, LL636 & Z, LL725 should have been on the B2 but the B1 was the only model available at the time.

    I have Profile 235 showing colour side views of 408 a/c (OW-J, DS713; OW-U, LL721; OW-K, DS620) 115 Sqn (A4-R, DS627); 432 Sqn QO-G, LL632; 514 Sqn (J1-K2, LL670).

Also shows a couple of test bed a/c with a jet engine in place of the rear turret which survived until 1950.

I've got both FP and ETO Lancaster versions. Although the FP version was very good when it first appeared, the newer ETO Lancs are with out a doubt superior in detail flight characteristics ect. Well done lads. And free too!!

    Smile Some Lancasters

Here are some that I am not sure have been released. These will be placed somewhere soon I think.... not in ETO

about these Lancs: I may be wrong but I think that all the ones released in ETO have the modified bomb bay for the Tallboy (except the MkII).
Do you plan to release a MkI or III with the standard bomb bay?

Me too. I expected better from payware. The Me-334's left wing is off which makes skinning it a pain. It also looks like the FP and freeware 334 are the same model?!

I really like FP and I am not sorry I paid for it. What really appeals to me most is the number of exotic aircraft like the Ar-234 and Me-334. The Me-410 is the better of the bunch IMO and seems to have had the most attention - I would pay $20+ for this alone. I am surprised that there are not more skins for this add-on, if only for the 410. I had hoped that the second version (with the P-51) would have had improved 3D and flight models and maybe some new weapons.

    Lancasters

They may. The decision was made to limit the number of planes I guess. All of the above are Bomber Command w/ the normal bomb bay.

Speaking bout FP textures, My hud wentand I lost almost everything. I had most of the data backed up. There was a file that put the German thingies on the German planes tails, the site that had it with a lot of FIRE POWER extras is gone, Any body know how I can get that file back.

BTW does anyone know what z7_schoeman is? I missing that one too.
    Thanks
