Over the past few weeks, I've done some tweaking of the VC panel, kinda setting it up for my personal use and enjoying the heck out off it. Considering it's a port over and not super high detailed by any means, it's still loads of fun to fly.

Falcon the C-123 is my faverite port AC. Are you going to be uploading the Vc mods you've done by chance?
I saw one of the real ones flying into KIAD just the other day!

How about a little operation with it:
"Operation Dumbo Drop"?
Flavio Cardoso - FSX Accel - XPlane 10 - Win 7 64
i72600k 4.2ghz Intel DP67BG - Corsair Hydro H50 - 8gb HyperX 1800 - NVidia gtx570 - TrackIR 5
What do you have to do to get the C-123 to convert to FSX? I have tried and there always seems to be something that does not work right. Thanks for any help.
The basic aircraft ported over fine, no glass issues, the gears weren't invisible, stuff like that was fine. I changed the prop blur to one I had from an FSX aircraft, I redesigned the VC panel and replaced all the '98 gauges with ones that fit the type of airplane and were recognized in FSX. I think on the bare metal paints I had to tone down the alpha channel somewhat as they were way too shiny for me.
Aside from those, I don't think there was really very much else, lol, lol.
Yea, I know, what else would there have been, lol. If the airplane was poor looking on the outside I probably would have just dumped it, but I felt it was worth saving and so I went to work to do what I needed to to get it where is was as close as I could get it and enjoy flying it. . .which I do every day.
The C-123 is a great aircraft to fly. I'm not partial to 'large' aircraft, but I really do enjoy cruising around in the Provider. I really like what you've doen with the panel falcon, much better definition than the port over version.
Hopefully you'll find it in your heart to share it.![]()

Nicely done! I flew the C-123 a fair amount in FS2004. Initially, I tried to make it useful in FSX, but ran into problems with the VC. I'm glad to see it completely ported into FSX.
Let us know when and where you upload it, please.

Now for a few questions for the beginers.
1) What file would I change to fix the prop blur?
2) When you say you redesigned the VC panel (other than changing many of the older gages) what did you change to improve the look or function?
Sorry about the very entry level questions, but I really loved the airplane in FS9 and would love to see it flying in FSX, for me.
I don't mind posting the panel changes I made, but I need to look at the gauges I used to be sure they are default gauges or gauges I can transfer without getting into a copyright violation. The VC panel bmp change is a simple one, just replace one with the other and it's done, as for the prop, there is a bitmap in the texture folders for the C-123 (C123prop), just find a suitable FSX aircraft with a prop blur that you like and fits the general size of the aircraft and rename it to C123prop and overwrite the existing bmp.
I'm currently uploading the panel modifications to SOH for download and also to my Box.net site for instant access until it's posted here. I'll have a link in very short order!
UPDATE: Ok, here's the direct download link:

PLEASE read the readme so you get the installation correct, especially if you are not already accustomed to making changes of this type. Enjoy!!
Thanks,much appreciated.
thank you falcon this should make flying the provider much more fun
Thank you.
