Thanks Ian, I took it in the hanger at Duxford late 1997 when she was with the Hannas.
Markus, which ever colour scheme you do, don't forget the fin flash on the tail.

You want a fin flash too?
O.K.: That should become version No. 4!
Holy cow - this bird seems to change its appearance quite more often that its spark plugs.

Phew - aspiring for authenticity can sometimes be a curse!
Once I'll get this one done, I think it's about time for a fictional repaint again...

The current USN rendition bound for the finish:
(Killmarks resized in the second shot to fit to original size)
From all the pictures I grabbed of this current scheme, none showing size and position of the civil registry number ZK-COR. Does anyone have a clue if and where?

Markus,
Warbird a/c in NZ are exempt from carrying civil marks anywhere on the exterior so the Corsair dosent have any.
Cheers
Paul
Markus, everything you have done is great, she is quite the chamelion. And before she was dressed up in her RNZAF scheme with OFMC, she was 'Big Hog' in the states
Thank you, gents!
These four beauties just made their way to AVSIM and Flightsim.com:
Have fun!

Hi Markus
Love the new repaints, it' all in the detail. One of my repaints (not yours) is missing the texture for the underwing pylons and the wing guns. Could you tell me which BMP it is so i can transfer it from a complete texture set?
Regards Paul Day.
Hi, Paul!
Glad you like it.
One of the freaky texture mapping restrictions of this Corsair is that the underwing pylons and gun barrels share the same texture file with the lateral cowl flaps. Filename is base_cors1_t.bmp.
This 'filesharing' works with these repaints, as the cowling's sides and cowl flaps are Intermediate Blue, just like the wing's lower surfaces (thus the pylons too). It won't work to have the lateral cowl flaps in one colour and the rocket racks and guns in another one...
Cheers,
Markus.

Hi Markus
Thanks for the help regarding the texture issue. I tried swapping the BMP which sorted out the pylons and guns , but i had blue rectangles on what was silver cowl flaps, but i had backed up everything. I have more respect for repainters and there perservierance now.
Regards Paul Day.
Very nice job Markus
Excellent detailing, and the whole package is really well presented (yes, I read the readme!)
Time to get to work, then:

Now that looks great, Charl!
You do have some fun with this FS Recorder, don't you? Think I'll try out this thing - once I'm done with repainting...
@ Paul:
Glad I could help.
Actually, there are three things that make this repainting stuff so interesting to me:
1. Reference research work:
That's the educational part.
2. Figuring out on how the model designer spreaded the textures:
Sometimes this is the![]()

side of the story...
But even more satisfying once the clue is found.
3. User's reception - no need to deny this!
Thank you.
Cheers,
Markus.
