Great scenery, thank you.I do however have a fps issue.Im running cfs2 on a lap top, intel(R)pentium(R)Dual CPU T2370 @1.73 GHZ 1.73 GHz,2.00 GB,32 bit operating system.Without any more planes or ships added it is slow, about 7fps,but only when i have plenty of ground objects in my screen.I will be upgrading my pc a.s.a.p,but will take a while.how can i improve fps?

Well we have been talking about that.

The best way is to cut down on the amount of objects in the scenery. In other words we create another GSL file for use by those whose computers may suffer from slower fps.

I am open to ideas on how we can futher alleviate the issues other than GSL if anyone has ideas.

Compare framerates @ Pearl Harbor, Wheeler and Kaneohe.

Obviously Pearl Harbor is the busiest... so we might have to make some alternative GSL there... how the other areas though?

    Fps

I'm running an Athlon 64 Dual Core Processor 5400+ 2.80 GHz with 2 gigs RAM. Windows XP with service pack 3. I'm getting 28fps on the low end with lots of scenery, and 78 - 90 fps on the high end. Beautiful stuff, BTW. Well worth the wait. Hopefully the ships will be coming soon!

    "how can i improve fps?"
Buy a new laptop ......,I've the same issue with mi MSI laptop I've as graphic card "Mobil intel 965 chipset family" ,intel(R)pentium(R)Dual CPU T2330 1.60 GHz ,good for a normal use but for a heavy game as a flightsim that take a lot of ressource it's a little bit too short .
I have a family home computer with a real graphic card for testing but it's very busy by my wife or my kids and I need to get a ticket to pilot it
For Christmas I 've got a second home PC only for the games But i've not yet find time to use it ....

With Dombral we've thought to do a ligthest gsl version of our last project for the small pc config but also for the missions or QC because in first cfs2 is a dogfight game and sometime for some missions the scenery must stay background,in hight altitudes don't need to have a heavy GSL ,it's possible after to deal with the lay file depending of the type of mission.

My specs are: C2D e6750 @ 2.6, 4 gig memory, 8800GTS 512, windows 7 x64. Fps are no issue with my rig, and this with my overclock turned off.
Looking great so far, but it sure looks empty without the ships.
    Great job.

p.s. I just notice that i have no texture on the one crane in first pic.

    Application, Processes and Services

What sort of background programs are running on your laptop? OS? I ran a Toshiba, Intel 1.73, 2GB ram XP for a few years and CFS2 did just fine. I ran XP in classic windows mode with absolutely NO frills for starters. What I did then was meticulously go through each and every application, processes and services running and if it was not critical for operations off it went. I averaged at least 35 fps on and it was very smooth. I also ran FS9 no problem. And of course that was onboard graphics so I had no choice but to alleviate the load somehow. If you are not flying online you don't need anti virus running, anti spyware, SpyBot & Tea Timer, etc as it's not needed. A fresh reboot is essential before you start the turning off routine though to free up memory however.

Now I would normally recommend a program to use however last time I did that it was a mess from what I gathered. However there are two programs that I know of that will turn off unnnecessary programs BUT, and this is VERY IMPORTANT, you have to read the directions AND research what is actually needed vs. what is not. This is imperative and I can not stress this enough. You go in willy nilly turning off this and that and you are simply asking for trouble.

This was standard procedure back in the early days of CFS2 and it worked then and will now. I guess with the advent of newer and stronger pc's nowadays it's a forgotten detail I suppose. Good luck

Hmm.. That i did not notice. Are the texture for them in one of the php2 zip files, or are they part of wolfi's library objects?
I have all 4 packs and are the same size as above.

No crane texture here either. Isn't there a tute somewhere on editing the GSL layouts with mission builder?

I already had Lindsey's tute, just forgot where I had put it. Question: Is there a K.I.S.S. method of changing static aircraft IDs in the GSL?
