Landed safely at Jakarta with a green duenna. Almost had a mid-air with a BOAC DC-3 just west of Jakarta that was headed west while I was still at altitude heading east.

Landed safely at Selaparang (WRRA). Interesting flight as I had to climb up to 11,500 to clear a volcano, but the best winds were down around 3,500.

    Pics..
    1) Ramp at Jakarta. Nice looking Flying Dutchman there.
    2) Got a pic of the volcano crater for PRB
    3) Parked at Selaparang

    Leg #18 WRRA - ?

Okay, here's the deal.. I possibly can fly from here to Darwin in one straight shot. The only catch is that it's right at the end of my range according to the default flight planner and we all know how reliable that is. WRRK is almost on the direct flight path, about half way to Darwin and is an approved airfield. So, I'm going to give it my best shot to go straight to Darwin. If it looks risky at WRRK, I'm going to land there to refuel and reassess the situation. If my fuel situation looks good, then I won't land and just continue on to Darwin.

Should be an "interesting" few hours.....

    UPDATES

0715 local.. leveled out at 11,500 with a 7kt headwind.. According to my navigator, Darwin is within reach if the weather doesn't get any worse.

1015 local... flew over WRRK with 52% fuel. Going for broke on to Darwin! I'll pick up on some range during descent

    Good luck.

Not to worry. The rumors that the Timor Sea is shark-infested are way overblown.

Green Duenna at Cloncurry. ~15kt headswinds at all altitudes, so I just decided to go high and the heck with it.

    Leg #21 YCCY - YBCV

After having taken Friday the 13th off, it's time to head on to Charleville.

Forgot to add, using FS9 Real Wx with 15 minute updates as always.

Most strange.. About 1:20 into the flight, my comp decided to reboot. I'll restart here in a bit.

And it was going so well too!

Final Leg Pt II YBCV - YMEN

Okay, going to try to get to Melbourne again. I don't think it's going to be close, but as I'd already called it, I'll stick with my original Precision Time Guesstimate of 3:35:00.

Drat!!! It did it again about an hour into the flight. I'm leaning towards the psu at this point. Or better said the fans in the psu. They've been making a lot of noise for a while now and quieted down a bit a few days ago. Just checked and there's no air blowing out of the psu and the top of the case is pretty darn warm right now. This 480w psu came out of Mrs Willy's old comp and is as old as my comp. I guess 7 years is a bit much to expect out of a psu.

Time to put the race on hold and order some parts.

Tough break dude.. But I've been there.. MANY years ago, I overclocked my 486-DX2-66 to 133 Mhz and it went on fire on me running fs4 or 5 i dont remember..
