Where in the scenery list does one place the bases?

Where in the scenery list does one place the bases? Above or below the global exclude?

    Thanks,

The bases shoud always sit "on top" of the mesh. The answer is above or below, depending on what you're looking at.

Before you start to think I'm giving you an Abbott & Costello "who's on first" answer, allow me to explain...

In the scenery.cfg file located inside of the CFS2 root folder, the order is first (lowest, i.e. your 'scenery base') to last (highest). So your airbase sceneries should always be in the last, or bottom part of your scenery.cfg file.

However, in the CFS2 add scenery utility (located in options) it reads the list back to front. So those which are last are displayed first. This is one of the few critical complaints I have about CFS2, and one I think trips so many people up and confuses the hell out of them.

Did I explain it well enough?

    Rami,

So I have the global exclude near the top and my airbases near the bottom (largest numbers)? No buildings show up at Hawkings for example. What am I doing wrong?

    Thank you

With regards to airbase buildings not showing up, that may be a GSL issue. With my setup, Hawkinge is just fine.

    PJmack,

With regards to the install guide, are you using the older one, or the Rhumba edition?

    Rami,

I have a small problem with the scenery at Hawkings. There is a second runway to the east and it seems to be overlapping the BoB scenery. Any ideas?

    Thank you,

    Would you have a pic?

It could be Martin Wright's Dover scenery from his site...is the runway dirt, or grass?

    Rami,

There was an extra base called "airfield" which I removed from the airfield list.

    Thank you,
