Don't know if you saw this on the news a couple of weeks ago. Someone broke into FoF and stole the engine off one of Kermit's prized personal aircraft.

I've met Kermit. He's a great guy, and you will probably see him wondering around FoF. He usually flies the demo at least once during the day.

He's exceptionally wealthy, but his family made their money after his character was was already formed and out in the world.

I really have to get over to FoF one of these days. It's really so close to home that I have no excuse other than laziness as to why I still haven't made it over there. :redf: I've also got to get myself over to Sun 'N Fun this coming year (April) in Lakeland.

    Have fun today, Chacha!

Oh, you need to do both, definately.

I take a day off work and volunteer at KPCM (where I keep my plane) for Sun-N-Fun. We get a lot of folks coming in there. Then I spend at least a day at KLAL.

There are generall discounts given for various groups...veteran's, senior citizens, AOPA members...so check those out before you go.

Yeah, I really do need to do both. Even my wife has mentioned them both to me several times, and she doesn't even care about aviation at all. She just knows how much I love planes, and thinks they're both things I would enjoy doing.

    OH my GOODNESS!

This is the museum that hold raffels for aircraft that are restored classics.. I joined a raffel on a ancient restored Cessna 140 here.

The place looks like a Disneyland for pilots!

You were blessed to go there Eli. Very nice. Hope you had a blast.

Who is the guy holding up the DVD package that has his picture on it??

EDIT ONE: What kind of sea plane is that in the background?

EDIT TWO: Is that the actual, real Enola Gae that Hannah is standing in front of??

My my.. Kermit's aged a bit since I met him...

1988 World Aerobatics Championship, Red Deer Alberta. Other than the judges I had the best seat in the house as one of the ATC staff and got to attend all the briefings and socials. Even in the heat of competition Kermit was polite and professional.
    http://events.fai.org/aerobatics/Eve...ils.asp?id=159

Then, a few years later... 1995, Yellowknife, NT 1st Annual (now biennial) Float Plane Fly-in and Poker Rally.

Nice Beaver on amphib floats arrives and I go over to greet another participant... turns out Kermit heard about the event and decided a trip up from Florida was a grand idea!

A few people have accused him of 'showboating' but I think he's done a lot for many facets of aviaiton.
