Thread: Freeware Gems

I can't believe that there has been no mention of Tom Gibson's California Classics site:

    http://www.calclassic.com

Think of it as a gateway to another dimension...a time machine... especially Las Vegas from 1959 and 1962.

If something like that can be omitted--then I predict that this thread will continue to grow for a while.

Actually, it's in post 59, although the link was mis-spelled - but that's fixed now. Thanks!

Updated: Works now! Must have been off-line for a mo.

    I followed the link:

"All planes are available here: http://homepage3.nifty.com/ryukichi/index.html "

...but the only a/c there is for FS X.

    Is there another link?

The VC instruments don't show. I have tried putting others in, but no luck. Let me know ith the VC panel works for you.

  9. #359
I see the VC fine. Not real fancy, but not bad either. All I did was the typical adding of the recommended sound files. and then dropped the whole folder in the FS9 aircraft folder.
...That's strange you can't see it

Has anyone mentioned Ready for Push back 747-200 at Simviation Page 211? Go to page 212 then back one.

Just a word and to say, please don't un-sticky this one, still working through it, lol.

    many thanks,
    Jamie

I believe this thread has permanent STICKY. At least as long as Tom, Cees and I are FS9 Moderators it will remain a STICKY.

    OBIO

I'm not bi-polar, etc. This is not a conversation I'm having with myself, not as long as I tell myself that anyway, lol.

    Oh yes, they keep coming!

    At flightsim.com:
    FS2004 Air Scheffel Boeing 737-800w

    Name: as738-v3.zip Size: 55,613,828 Date: 07-13-2010
FS2004 Air Scheffel Boeing 737-800w. This package includes high-res panels, detailed cockpit, cabin, wing views, unique (auto) checklist with speech, nearly 200 sounds, working APU and TFT in the passengers cabin. Also many effects to improve realism. Model (Erick Cantu) included. With setup.exe or manual install if preferred. By Arjan Scheffel.

This is version 3, unzips into a 100MB folder, absolutely loaded with goodies.
If you only ever fly one tubeliner, this should be it.
The overhead panel is the highest-res I've ever seen.
    Too complicated?
Let the crew run through the checklist for you, and operate all those switches and buttons!

Restauravia's Mystere IVA. Can be found on AVsim.com as mystereiva_v1.0_fs9.zip. One super sharp looking vintage jet.

Can't remember if this site has been mentioned or not, but Classic Wings has a hangar full of wonderful freeware planes covering a huge chuck of aviation's time span.

The (formerly payware) Iris F-15 Eagle and F-14 Tomcat are spectacular. Not all the freeware on their site is of the same high quality but the newer items are very good indeed, and and work well on my old system (compared to newer stuff that bogs it down). The night-lighting of the instruments on the F-15 is something to behold.

    Hi,

Who can forget the still amazing Falcon 50 by Yannick Lavigne, Fred Banting, and Rob Young. Originally designed for FS2002 and updated for FS2004. Still a beauty after all these years. The FS2004 update is kinda hard to find but here's a good copy.

    Hi,

You can get the Falcon 50 in FlightSim and many paints.
    Can you post link(s) ?
I don't find any Falcon 50 model (for FS2004) from Lavigne at Flightsim.com

Avsim.su has the FS2004 updated version.

    http://www.avsimrus.com/f/fs2004-air...ui--29779.html

Note: If you install any FS2002 repaints to it, I recommend modifying the alpha channel, or extracting the alpha from a newer livery (such as the Swiss Air Force one) and placing it in the older liveries. It makes them look much nicer in FS2004!

Hey Wing_Z... could you tell me where I could find that repaint? I'd love to have a BBJ in my virtual hanger. Thanks!
