    Talking Thank You Golden Age Simulations ...

    ... For your fantastic New Standard D25! I know it may have been released for a little while now, but I finally have an upgraded PC which will run it with high scenery settings ...

    Love it & Thanks! Mike

    i was wondering the same thing, i have an obsession with the trees in FS (some people have an affinity with trees and 'land' in them), i used to have a set of trees for low level slow stuff and a set for high alt or low & fast, gotta get that setup back

    That looks like Sascha's work on the scenery. His Pattonville ground texture and trees look the same as that. Hanger though doesnt look familiar.

    Great plane! They did a good job on it. Very rare now. They had tons of them in the old days. There is a Carry Grant movie with one of those in it. Called; 'Only Angels have Wings'. Great film.

    There's a fix for the Standard. I think it had to do with the tail going through the ground on taxi/landing. If you don't have the problem, don't need it.
    If you do, I reluctantly have to say that I don't remember where I got the fix.

    It is a upgrade in itself Mike, thanks for the HU. I did not know Golden Age Simulations had release an FSX version also. Downloaded both versions (I had the old NT-2 version).

    I also did new textures for a US Coast Guard D 25A for in DDS textures for the FSX version. My FS9 Coast Guard textures can be found here at SOH in either 888-8 32-bit or DXT3 formats.

    Copy either the waldo or ora texture and paste it back. Rename it texture.uscg. Extract the textures in the zip below to texture.uscg and overwrite when prompted.

    However, to use it with the latest FS9 D 25A, you will have to alter the aircraft .cfg as follows:

    [fltsim.**]
    title=New Standard US Coast Guard
    sim=New Standard D 25A
    model=
    panel=
    sound=
    texture=uscg
    kb_checklists=D25_A_check
    kb_reference=D25_A_ref
    ui_manufacturer= New Standard Aircraft Corp
    ui_type=US Coast Guard
    ui_variation=US Coast Guard
    description=5 seat open cockpit utility aircraft\n

    Change the ** to the next appropriate number. DO NOT use the Read Me info in the download, only the textures.

    There is no direct link to the download, but scroll down this page for the GAS D 25A repaint to represent a USCG NT-2. The is no photo, but click either the zip or photo place for the download. It still works, at least it did for me.

    Caz

    Screen is from FSX version.

    Bill, it is indeed the updated version of Pattonville.

    Caz, that is a sharp looking repaint, I will gladly add it to my aircraft.

    Thanks very much! Mike

    Finally! Don't get me wrong, I love Dave's Stearman, but I never thought the nose was right. It never contoured up to the engine right. Also the flight performance lacked IMHO. Watching John Mohr fly a stock Stearman and then try to recreate that... No way!
