    My current rig:
    Acer 4520 Aspire laptop
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core (1.9 GHz, 2x256 KB L2 Cache)
    Nvidia GeForce 7000M
    2 GB DDR2 RAM
    160 GB HDD
    14" screen (hey it's a laptop)
Compaq mouse w/trackball (cheap but gets the job done)
    Microsoft Sidewinder Pro (non FFB)
Microsoft XBox 360 controller (both wired and wireless; only used if on the road; otherwise the Sidewinder is used)
OS is Vista 32 Home Premium but hasn't really given me too many problems so far and I've had it for about nine months.

Anybody remember when a 486 running at 22mhz with an 80 MB hard drive was 'overkill'?:isadizzy: Dang we've come a long way.

    AMD Athlon 2000XP
    1g ram
motherboard is the second one it's had dunno what it is
    Asylum FX 5200 video
    onboard sound
    Drive C 250G Western Digital
Drive D 40G Western Digital (storage of backups)
    XP Home SP2
    HP DVD burner
Microsoft Sidewinder I joystick (new in '99)
    Creative Labs 5.1 speakers
    Koss Headset with mic
    Viewsonic 19" LCD monitor

Note: This rig was originally built in 2002 with CFS 3 in mind with Win 98SE for an OS. It's always been a flightsim rig for it's main use. It's had a few upgrades along thru the years, but the CPU, Drive D, speakers and joystick have been with it since new. At one time I had a Soundblaster Audigy 2 sound card in it, but that one dropped my framerates by about a third, so I went back to the onboard sound. It runs FS9 well enough, but it's been showing it's age for the past couple of years now.

My specs are in my sig.

Ive got enough horsepower to run FS9, 3DS Max & Photoshop CS4 all at the same time. FSX with Max & CS4 does drag things though

    Just yanking your chain, Mud.
I have a watercooled Core 2 Duo @ 4GHz with a pair of Radeon HD 4870's in Crossfire, which does not satisfy my FSX ambitions.
    Runs FS9 pretty handily though.

Mine's now getting a bit long in the tooth but no point updating now until Window7 is out and proven to be worth the wait:

    Athlon 64 4000+ 2.4GHz
    nVidia 8800GT 512Mb graphics
    2Gb RAM
    WinXP Home SP3
    3x 500Gb drives + 500Gb external backup drive (FS2004 drive ~60% full)
    2x 19" flatscreens (1:1.25 ratio)
    CH Yoke USB
    CH Pro Pedals USB

This is good enough for most FS2004 uses, although, sadly, the ESDG and Lionheart planes are a bit too much for it and the scenery blurrs pretty rapidly.

My toy. lol. I updated a few things, added a three foot water tower, replaced the pump with one that moves more water. Also added a water block to the video card,North bridge and processor. I saw some of the other members simulator and thought about making it more like a plane but I don't fly as much as I use to. My specs are in my sig....Mike
