This is where I am now. I have redone the textures of the Dutch liveries.
So far adding lights is still a problem and I still have to do all the writing. The 5th is liberation day, but I won't be able to make that. As Ferry already mention a few posts ago the day I aim at is the 10th, which was the day the Germans invaded the Low countries and France.
Cheers,
Huub

Help is always appreciated Cees! One thing which needs to be done properly is the lights. Some where during the many version, one landing light has disappeared and the other one is locate at a wrong position. The lights on both tail fins are gone as well.
Luckily I do have the model with which makes both landing lights shine on the runway.
I also would like to reduce torque a bit as is is very difficult to take off. Both engines turn the same direction, so the flightmodel is probably quite realistic, however flying this thing should be fun as well!
If you could address these issues I will try to create an explanation of the instruments and write an readme which gives credits to all involved.
Thanks,
Huub

Huub,
this is what I have at the momment, odd names and effects I have tweaked from others, so please substitute for others.
Also use shockwave lights, change names to suit default. I'm not around much just now due to life stuff, but I can try and help if possible, just name what you need, I'll try.[lights]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
light.0 = 4, 3.19, 0, 1.77, fx_vclight_G1
light.1 = 4, -1.0, 0.00, 1.5, fx_vclight_G1 ,
light.2 = 3, 0, -28.2, 2.7, fx_shockwave_navred
light.3 = 3, 0, 28.2, 2.7, fx_shockwave_navgre
light.4 = 3, -25.5, 0, 0.65, fx_shockwave_navwhi

yes i know i cant spell half the time! Thank you kindly to those few who pointed that out
Hi,
I was hoping there would be some news on this, and I'm looking forward to the release !
Alastair
Huub,
I'm well on the way with the lights. I adapted something in the start up sequence time which lets the engines start up more naturally. The torque is very easily neutralized by tapping the F11 key a few times while accelerating (differential braking). Maybe you can put that in the readme? I'll send you the cfg as soon as I'm ready.

Beautiful, incredible looking aircraft Huub!
Really looking forward to this.

I personally love the challenge of an accurate flight model. There are multiple ways to deal with the yawing tendency during the takeoff roll. Braking being the least attractive one but feasible if absolutely necessary. With high power engines on a conventional gear aircraft some skill should be required to get airborne. You don't shove the throttles all the way up in a Mustang, 109 or Spitfire either. Finesse is the name of the game.
Accelerate at modest power until the aircraft lifts the tail and therefor the rudder into the slipstream and becomes more controllable. Then give her more power to get to flying speeds.
With a twin, and a dual throttle setup you have one more trick in your bag and one that is used in real life as well. Throttle steering where you use engine power to balance out the torque effect. Depending on the rotation of the prop, crosswind condition etc you simply use more power on one side or the other to keep going down the runway in a straight line. This is common even in such docile aircraft as the DC-3 and used at all times in the C-46. In the latter you use that technique even in flight to help power the aircraft through a turn as I was told by the chief pilot of "China Doll"
Very much looking forward to the release of this loooooong awaited Fokker.
Cheers
Stefan
