    FSX Helo's

Hello sim addicts, could someone advise me on the best Freeware/payware helicopters for FSX. What would be ideal is a helo with a very good virtual cockpit and hopefully realistic start up procedure.

Have been searching online but nothing as yet hits the spot. Oh Russian Helo's are my favourite. That's why I bought Blackshark, can it get any better?

    thanks in advance.......................eccles

In short, no it doesn't get better than Blackshark in terms of realism. Alphasim has a few Russian Helos, but I'm not sure about startup procedures. Nemeth seems to be the gold standard in Helicopter systems realism. (They haven't updated their Russian choppers to FSX yet unfortunately)

By far the best chopper for FSX is the Dodosim 206. It is unmatched.

The Nemeth Designs Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion for MS Flight Simulator X is worth checking out. Available at SimMarket.

I am very fond of the freeware Piasecki H-21 Shawnee (Mick Posch), a beautiful beast! (From Flightsim and others)
"What do you hear?" "Nothing but the rain!" "Then grab your gun and bring the cat in!" "Boom, boom, boom!"

I wouldn't say Alphasim deals with too much start up procedures but some of their helos rank on top for me.

    Alphasim:
    Blackhawk (personal favorite)
    Black shark
    Sea Sprite
    AH64D Apache Long bow
    AH64A Apache
    CH-53 Sea Stallion
    MH-53 Pavelow

Nemith Design: I find with this company you really need to download all the patches if they make them.

    CH-53E Super Stallion
    Eurocopter EC-135
I still need to buy the Messerschmitt-Bolkow-Blohm BO-105 and MD 500 defender.
They are working on a EC-225 Super puma that I'm interested in.
These are some of the ones I really like.

The freeware Piasecki gets my vote too, but I don't own any Payware helicopters and rarely fly helicopters.

It's an amazing piece of freeware.

    Heli's for me.

Thank you for your replies, yup Blackshark is going to be hard to beat.
Will try some of your suggestions, and hope by practising diligently in FSX with their heli's will become a better Ka-50 pilot. One lives and hopes. My landings in BS can be, um exciting. God knows how many friendly ground crew I have killed, especially at the FARPS, forgive me comrades!

    cheers eccles.
