Apologies for the delay. Here is a curious little bug.

    Hi Moses.

The Tallman T-4? That's just a guess from memory, now to Aerofiles for a closer look...

  4. #10629
    Spelling.

    It's THALMAN. A skinned Thalman T-4.

  5. #10630
A quick one from Green on the T-4.

    Take it away Sir.

  6. #10631
    Thanks Moses.

    Also under construction...

  7. #10632
I'm going to leave you with it Moses. I'm stepping out for the day but I can provide a photo of the completed aircraft if you prefer - just say the word.
Looking back at your T-4 photo - does it have a sort of Vickers geodetic construction to it?

    Cheers.

  8. #10633
Can't make up my mind if this is some sort of early jet or a helicopter.

  9. #10634
I'd assumed helicopter - something along the Cierva W-9 lines - but that didn't get me any closer to identifying this mystery aircraft!

  10. #10635
Not a helicopter and powered by a Continental piston engine driving a pusher ducted propeller. A boundary layer control research aircraft built by some bright young Americans at a University in the USA circa 1962...

Thanks Green. I think it became the Marvelette, then the XAZ-1 when the NASA ( I think) became involved. There is a paper on the web from Mississippi Uni describing its evolution, I found it by googling BLC.
Anyway here is my next offering. Hope its not a repeat.

Pure luck with the quality photo BG, but not an AVIA, its from t'other side of pond.

Green you have it, well done.

    Yours again I believe.

Thanks Keith. Apologies for the delay.

Looks real close to one of the Ta-Ho-Ma biplanes but not an exact match. Not sure.

Well, can't say I've seen or heard of a Ta-Ho-Ma biplane Moses, but I'm guessing this isn't as rare. Wiki mentions around 40 were built. The photo was taken somewhere around 1970 (I think) which shows one that was registered and flying in Wisconsin.

Could this be the Pheasant H-10 ??

    Nicely Done Lefty!
    Over to you...

  22. #10647
Thank you ( and good old Joseph Juptner....)

Here's a fighter trainer - the odd clue here, otherwise fairly obscure.

  23. #10648
The roundel is confusing but my money is on the Societatea de Exploatari Tehnice SET-7.

    Nice one on the Pheasant!

  24. #10649
Well I'm going to give you that, although it is the rarer SET X (not to be confused with the SET 10)

It was a single-seater as opposed to the SET 7's two, and equipped with machine gun or camera gun.

As for the markings, I think the Romanian Army roundel (red/yellow/blue centre) was used between 1915 and 1941.

    Good work, though !

  25. #10650
Thanks Mike. Was not sure after posting but now I see I overlooked the X in my Romanian book!

Onward then with a grainy trimotor.
