Hmm - just shows the true value of an Aerofiles search ! '1pCmwM' indeed ! If that contraption is mid-winged, then I am FuManChu........

I have emailed Aerofiles over the years to offer up minor corrections but have never heard back from them. To be fair, they probably get swamped with all kinds of chaff on a daily basis!
One of us needs to get on the staff over there some day.
Mike, TBH I would have classified it as a mid wing design, marginal admittedly, but there is fuselage above the wing, & also it looks as if the engine is in line with the wing. Sorry to be a pain(e).
Mind you I did not know you could search aerofiles like that - interesting - still learning!
Keith
Well we'll have to agree to differ, Keith ! Aerofiles has a few bugs - but it only serves to remind us what a terrific source it is - without it and AviaFrance, we would be much poorer....
I'm sure someone would have organised a similar resource over here - the main problem being the draconian copyright laws. Post the wrong photo and someone will soon be demanding thousands of pounds - it happened to the guy who organises, out of the goodness of his heart, our village historical website.
Incidentally, Kevin, where is 'over there' ???
If this one looks different, it does
But what is the difference ?
Another mid-wing, eh ? Looks like a more modern version of the Taylor Bird.....
Mike, Now thats what I would call a High wing design, the pilot cannot see the top surface of the wing from the cockpit when flying it!!!....Sorry I shall now go back to sleep for a while! Interesting photo of the Mid wing job though with twin tandem main wheels.
Keith
Had not expected that a little difference makes it look so much different Not a one-off, but series produced (around 66/67 built). The subtle difference apparently makes it difficult to recognize.
Looks like a cross between a Seabird Seeker and a glider..
Intel i9-13900 Raptor Lake , Be Quiet! Dark rock slim cooler, 32 Gb Corsair DDR5 RAM, MSI Z790 Tomahawk motherboard, Asus RTX 4060Ti 16Gb, Thermaltake 1050 Watt PSU, Windows 11 64-bit 1 m2, 4 SSD, 2 HDD.
Think of a single central main wheel and outrigger wheels under the wing tips.
The Polish SZD-45 Ogar motor glider (albeit with a difference)
Open House please
Let's try something a little more moody...
That, sir, is a Mitsubishi Ki-2-1.
The chappie in the front turret is yelling for somebody to bring the propellers so they can get going........
on the Mitsubishi.
I could not decide if there were no props or if they were spinning and not picked up in the photo.
In similar vein, another twin (or is it - ??) with props - of unusual design. Should be very easy (and it's probably been here before) but this is a nice photo and I just like it !
The P.23 is one of my alltime favorite designs. If only a modeler would have a go but I don't think any 3-views or cockpit photos exist.
BG is of course correct - the Piaggio P.23M.
'Dismantled' - perhaps, but only after a fatal crash....
Over to Italy -
Thanks Lefty and hello to you all guys!
What is the name of this horrible contraption:
BG
