    I was galloping along to avoid the stampede!
    Actually the search was easier than i thought even though it was based on "gullwing Luscombe"... the tail-feathers were the clue.

    This is an odd one - disregard the hayfield. The location was not one of intent! However, I guess a forced landing proves the aircraft flew - once

    to Fife! They were air-dropped about 0400 GMT as we flew over...

    The nose was likely "customized" during the forced landing.

    The little triangular bits on the LE of the upper wing got me thinking about slots/slats and that led to Handley Page ... and then the H.P. 31 Harrow (yes there was another Harrow...)

    Only pics I could find were the wheel version so Lefty must have dug deep in a Putnam
