Very similar, but the Halbronns were of course triplanes. This is the L.A.F. Torpilleur designed by a M. Desmons.

It appears the French had nothing much else to do in 17/18 but churn out seaplanes - there are dozens of them.

Can't come up with anything fresh just now, so open house, chaps !

For all fans of somewhat grainy, slightly out of focus airplane pictures......

Not exactly being trampled in the rush to post an answer to this shabby old crate, then !

Looks like something cobbled up in the Third World from old Curtiss and Boeing parts. Scrubby landscape doesn't appear to give a clue - or does it ?

I've done some further digging, and it seems (without guarantee, though) that these 'alerte' floatplanes were designed to patrol coastal waters nearing harbours to find out and drive off enemy submarines.

Read more HERE. Glad if it's of any help.

Actually Lefty, I neglected to photoshop out a very small clue....seek and ye shall find. I wouldn't focus too much attention on the landscape though.

My rickety bucket of bolts has lasted far longer than I expected. Finding something that makes you guys scratch your head is a rarity indeed.

You were searching for the Resit MMV-1 (prototype). Here's the later version (larger V.Stab, different cowling, etc.) - only 1 was built.

Hmmmm, looked at the MMV and dismissed it because it looked totally different (tail especially). There you go.....

Now for this wee horror that doesn't look 'right' at all.
