Looks like a BMW V1 engine.......
Not a BMW. This was the second version rebuilt as a 10 seat airliner. It was originally intended for the military. You can just make out the rear top turret.

This is where I slip behind the Officer's Mess with one bullet in the Webley and do the honourable thing.............![]()
Please don't, Lefty, the 6-nation tournament is a better opportunity yet for such desperate action
Darn, that single-engined DH was HUGE !
Not easy getting something from the UK past Lefty. I was going to post a new one this morning but DHC2 swooped in for the kill. Well done!
Have at it-

One of the manifestations of old age - you get into a stubborn mindset - in this case, that the machine in question was French, or at least continental European. Never even went near Britain or the USA.
I'm still loading the Webley. If you don't hear from me, raise a glass at sunset.......![]()
I almost feel bad for taking that one away from him. Almost.
Sorry for the wait gentleman.....I left for Oshkosh at 4:30 this morning and just got home....somewhat sunburnedOpen floor as I'm heading off to bed and will busy at work tomorrow. I'll post a few pics of the DH Comet when I return - she's a beauty!
No worries DH. Looking forward to the Comet pics! BTW- Nice to have another spotter in my time zone.
Next up, a nifty triplane-
Please feel free to move on if you guess this one. I might be out of pocket most of the morning and afternoon. Hopefully Lefty will still be of sound mind and body when the rooster crows.
