That old whippersnapper got it - I was right with the East European, although I thought this was a child of the sixties - looks a bit of an anachronism.

Like popular music, aviation for me ceased in 1975, so I am never going to get this brand-new stuff ! My only Jane's with this in it refers to a Wolfsberg-Letov, acquired by Latécoère in 2000.

Where do the British & Belgian bits come in ???

(I was 66 only last week - does this mean you are the senior citizen here, Wout ???)

The story of the Raven 257 (If I lie please someone correct me) is as follows:
The designer is form the UK (a Mr. Alex Clark)
Wolfsberg Aircraft Corporation N.V. of Belgium took the initiative for thios potential BN-2 Islander replacement.
Wolfsberg then entered into a j/v with Evektor-Aerotechnik KG and Letov Air s.r.o. (both Czech Republic) for production. The fuselage and tail section of no.1 were built by Evektor and the wings by Letov. Evektor did the assembly and no.1 flew 28 July 2000. The j/v ended and a company named Wolfsberg Letecká Tovarná s.r.o built a second example (flown 6 June 2006) with mainly aerodynamic improvements. Strangely this a/c is also referred to as the Gryf Corvus 1F or as the Gryf Boxcar (Gryf Design Bureau).

This is buggin' me! For once I know the plane, but I cant quite remember what the name of it is, even though I'll remember when I hear it.

OK, I'm a bit surprised too. This is the Weserflug We271. Weser normally assembled other types such as the Do18, He114 and of course the Ju87, but came up with a few of their own.

Back to that Vickers Vigil... I saw the pic, knew it and couldn't find it to confirm.. seems I've been busy eleswhere. I hate it when I have time to pop in, see something that rings a bell and can't figure out what the tune is.
Actually I'd love it if someone would do the Rhein RF-1 for FS9.. although it might be tricky making the ring-wing flight dynamics accurately
