    to SrGallahad!

PBN Nomad 1941 = Twin flying boat from the Naval Air Factory styled after PBY Catalina; two Wright R-1830-92; span: 104'3" length: 64'8" load: 18,712# range: 2590 ceiling; 15,100'. POP: 156 as PBN-1 [Bu Nos A02791/02946], most of which were exported to USSR.
And I thought it had the potential be a stinker.

..and with her back in the slipstream + no Gosport tube, it's amazingly quiet for the crew

Going to be away from the computer until well into the day tomorrow. Will go ahead with the next one to give you all something to work on.

A very curious design. Where is the engine? Hehe...

Well, my diggings have revealed something with a description tallying with this, but can't find a pic to corroborate.

Is it the Lewis-American Gray Goose MD-1 ??

Lefty scores big here on the parasol pusher mess! Apparently it attained the amazing height of 14" on it's test flight.

Amazed it got as high as 14", to be honest.

    Here's something different - a rather sinister-looking twin.
