I venture to guess that would be a Danish Heinkel HE-8, although I've only ever seen a 3-place version. Looks as though the gunner position has been covered. Ventral rudder extension is smaller than normal too.

Spot on DHC2. Over to you-

  3. #2628
    Board is open

  4. #2629
    OK, I'll have a go. Here's a rather smooth-looking passenger model.

    Sorry for the grainy pic.

  5. #2630
Something from our friends in Poland? Looks "LWS-ish".

  6. #2631
A bit southwest of Poland methinks. The Czech Avia 156.

  7. #2632
Spot on. Avia 156 she is.

  8. #2633
    Thanks Mike.

This one was sent over to the air force for evaluation as a trainer. It didn't make the cut.

  9. #2634
    Avro 560 ?

  10. #2635
The moonlight shift (US members) scores again !

  11. #2636
Thought the little Avro would last longer. Nice one DHC2.

  12. #2637
This one was new to me up until a week ago.......

"The moonlight shift......." LOL - I guess that would make you the Early Bird shift, eh? = )

  13. #2638
This the Smolin KSM-1? Some of those Russian names are very confusing!

  14. #2639
I have it as the Resinine KSM-1, but as you said the Russkies have the conspiracy of confusion going strong. Over to you

  15. #2640
Let's see where this unsuccessful light bomber goes. Thought I would keep the nice grainy photography theme going...

  16. #2641
You know, most people have a Photoshop filter to minimise grain on a pic - Moses' version adds it by the bucketload .....

Not enough, however, to disguise this Letov S.33

  17. #2642
Letov it is. Over to the lowlands.

  18. #2643
Just for a change, how about a veteran single-engined fixed-gear monoplane.......

  19. #2644
That looks very much like the Albatross L 83 (With the signature tail assembly devilishly hidden from view).

  20. #2645
The Ancient Mariner hath shot down the Albatros. Next, please....

  21. #2646
This one was designed to land in the water and skim right up on the beach. Okay, I made that up but it is a weirdo!

  22. #2647
Looks like somebody attacked an old BT-1 with a welding kit. Presume the wingboard 'props' are not for propulsive purposes - air tanker ? crop duster ? Never seen this one.

And the motor looks as though it is about to part company with the rest of the nose.........

  23. #2648
One major maufacturer testing some things on another major manufacturers aircraft. The outboard "props" were to simulate propwash...

  24. #2649
Testbed for a Burnelli design ?

  25. #2650
Not for a Burnelli but for a very big transport.
