Thread: The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

99.9% certain on the Loire, and Kevin won't be surfacing for a wee while, so we'll try another one. Back to the paddling pool........

  2. #2552
Correct on the Loire. Thought it looked like something from the USA and would through you off the trail.

The floater has a German feel...

  3. #2553
    We have ways...

  4. #2554
I knew that had to be a Dornier! Is it the Do C3 (or C2a)?

  5. #2555
C3, indeed. of Schottenhamel für mein Texan freund, bitte......

  7. #2557
Ah, the dear old Bassou F.B.30. Not the prettiest.....

  8. #2558
    Yeppers.

Oddly enough, there is some footage of it in flight.

Good Lord ! Have you seen some of the other movies that Bomberguy has posted on the Tube ? Flying wings, pushers, French weirdos - right up your street, Kevin !

But not, I think, this one.......

  10. #2560
Bomberguy does have a lot of good stuff over there.

Your trimotor is a Spanish Civil War refugee, the Avia 51.

  11. #2561
Didn't think that would squeeze through...

BY the way, do you or anyone else have a pic of the Avia 57 ? Can't find one anywhere.

  12. #2562
All I have is a small pic of the 57.

While we are on the subject, how about this trimotor that floats?

  13. #2563
Here's a bit larger pic of the 57

  14. #2564
Who is going to blink first!

Another one-off of course. From your side of the pond...

  15. #2565
Anything that ugly MUST be French, but I'm coming up empty. Still looking though.

  16. #2566
France would be a safe place to look...

  17. #2567
Found it at last - it's a ruddy amphibian ! The Romano R-15

  18. #2568
I know I'm right with the Romano (same pic) so how about a nice bomber for a change ?

Please press on if you get this (not difficult) as I'm out curling today....

  19. #2569
Feels like another French design. Something Breguetish or Latecoere maybe. Not sure with just the front view to go on.

  20. #2570
Another view - agree head-on is tricky but you guys are so good......

  21. #2571
I can't find a picture but thinking this is the Liore et Olivier LeO 7/2? It looks like a cross between the LeO-5 & 7/3.

  22. #2572
I have it simply as the LeO 7 (from two sources) - definitely not the 7/3, so maybe the 7/2, or was there a 7/1 ? LeO specialists au secours !!!

  23. #2573
I found one reference of the LeO 7, calling it the prototype. You photo didn't look like one.

We need a Putnam style book; French Civil and Military Aircraft 1920-1935!

  24. #2574
Until the LeO expert shows up, let's go open board here.

  25. #2575
OK, I'll bite, - how 'bout this Silver Lady ?
