As an aside, looking at those two photos of the Mitsubishi, I wonder which one has been reversed .......if you look at the prop......one is LH, t'other is RH...?

    Yes Moses I think you're right about the Meindl......I have her as Meindl-VanNes A-VIII (8) registered A-146 (later OE-DEU)....
    Therefore your turn please
    BG

    Thanks BG.

    Onward with a recon type...

  4. #10304
    Potez 39?

(Thanks for the feedback on the previous page - and yes, the Balloil)

  5. #10305
Green swoops in for the kill on the Potez.

  6. #10306
    Thanks Moses!

Struggling with the attachments...doesn't seem to be working for me.

    Sorry, OPEN HOUSE.

Maybe you are trying to upload photos that are too large, Mr G, especially if you are scanning them. The attachment system will automatically downsize them , but not if they are too big to begin with. Moses can probably be more specific on this..

    Here's a wee European horror -

Indeed, and it ain't German either.... Pobjoy engine. The company produced an unorthodox monoplane too...

Unfortunately I'm not getting very far....Proberts appears to have gone missing & Wiki does not have any photos of some aircraft listed as having Pobjoys. Did notice the Tiger Moth in the background though, so it would make the exhibition about 1932?
    Keith

  11. #10311
    1932 about right, Keith.

One final clue - the European country concerned is one which never joined the EU (sensible people) - and to save you hunting, it is not Andorra.......

  12. #10312
The EU clue helped. It's the Farner W.11!

Green: Sorry about the attachment issue. Not sure what is going on there. You could also try embedding the images via a photo hosting site. That's what I do 95% of the time in this thread. (If the forum crashed again, all the attachments will be gone, but the embedded photos will survive as long as the host site is still going).

Would not have found that in a million years, Googling shows it but seemingly only on one site!

Mr Green, maybe the problem is that you need to scan down when replying & you will find a new box that allows one to upload pictures & insert them into your message. Not a very good description I'm afraid, but give it a try!

Over to Moses - Farner W.11 it is......

  15. #10315
This one is not from Andorra either...

Thank you. If it did not have the sting it would have been more difficult.

Thanks Dev One ...I apologize for the delay but today being tax day in Italy (so our Xmas bonus is completely absorbed by our good leftist rulers) I had a few things on my mind....
    However here's my today's offer:

All details point to an Ambrosini S.A.I. 2S, apart from the fin. (even the rudder is the same shape) Is this a modified racer, or whatever ??

(Edit- have just found a photo of I-ELIS, which is indeed a modified 2S)

Very quick indeed Lefty....yes it is an Ambrosini SAI 2S and precisely the I-Elis which had a modified tail with a fin (the Others didn't...)
    Your turn please

    Thanks BG - here's an ungainly-looking machine -

Interesting photo Mike. It has to be some version of the IMAM Ro 30 without a cowl ring?

This is the only other photo I can find with a 2-bladed prop:
