    Thanks Lefty!
and here's my next proposal ( an easy one as I don't feel I should strain people's mind more than necessary on account of the heat wave....)
    Cheers

Come on guys!. Be more positive
Look at the main features: biplane, open cockpit, radial engine, folding wings

So dim you can't actually see it.... anyway this brute looks a bit like the Siemens-powered Phoenix Meteor L-2.

Why it should have an HS logo, I know not - unless it is in fact SH - Siemens & Halske ?????? Typical of BG to mislead us in this manner......

Sorry guys if it proved to be more difficult than I at first thought....yes Lefty it is indeed the Phönix L2c "Meteor" of 1929 with a Siemens Sh13 engine. You're of course entitled to submit an equally difficult item...
    Cheers

Apologies, BG, was winding you up a bit there....

Here's a chunky trimotor for those who like such things -

  10. #9635
That Sir is a Potez 40.

  11. #9636
Indeed it is, my friend. The Potez 40 !

  12. #9637
    I stand corrected!

    How about this brute?

This reminds me of a Lorraine-Hanriot LH130 though there seems to be a few things that don't quite match....

Sorry gentlemen, I stand corrected: it is definitely the Hanriot H131....
    BG

Yup, the H131. Well done BG.

I took a shot of an unusual aircraft in the Le Bourget Air and Space Museum, Paris.
    So here's my proposal:

    Nice photo Mark!

One thing though for our quiz here, you have to first correctly identify the aircraft for the right to post the next mystery. Keeps things orderly.

So in this case Baragouin having identified the Hanriot H131, gets to post the next one.

    Hi boys and girls!
This is a rather difficult task: against which U.S. floater does this happy gathering take place?

    cheers

Oh, my apologies, didn't know that. I can kill the post if it's not appropriate.

    Cheers,

No, please keep it there! As soon as someone identifies BG's floater, we will move yours to the front.

  21. #9646
Well BG's floater (as Moses knew also -he's being typically modest) is the Loening C-5 - also closely related to the Loening Duckling II - so close in fact, they have the same serial.......

Anyway, Mark, if BG doesn't mind, (and I'm 99.9% sure I'm correct on this one) we'll let your pointy mystery stand as the next challenge. Who's up for it ????

    Hi Lefty!
It is indeed the LoeningC-5. See how wrong I can be in my assumptions? I thought this was difficult and it was identified in a jiffy whereas the one I thought would be easy (the "Phoenix Meteor") proved to be a hard nut to crack!
So who wants to challenge the pointy thing of the german gentleman and keep on going?
    BG

No worries! It was my fault for not mentioning the rules from the first post in this thread.

The pointy space ship is the Leduc 010. Like that moody photo Mark.

Okay, here is something to keep things rolling along...
