    After looking at aircraft for a long time, certain types have an indefinable 'feel' to them - you can sniff out American designs compared to British quite easily (and not just the whitewall tyres !) This one just looked Dutch to me.

    Birdwatchers (of which I am one) have a term called 'jizz' - it's not the component parts, but the way they are all combined, that counts. See ? Clear as mud.

    This Koolhoven got under my radar - mentioned, but no photo, in '26 Jane's. Must try harder............

    Maybe I can make up for it by calling out Ferry's French veggie slicer. It's the Chauviere Gyroptere of 1927. Note the odd vertical fuselage flaps!
