Nipped in just ahead of Walter!
A mail/passenger aeroplane...
Hi Moses.
Any connection to Halbertadt? The tail looks a little like the C.V.
No connection to the Halberstadt but you are on the right trail.
This was a Great War surplus recon aircraft that was put to use in the early 1920's as a mail carrier and airliner. Over 1000 were produced.
Thanks for the clues Moses. Not much ammo left, but I quickly found this...
Some clues then. I think Moses would describe this as "off the beaten path". According to Wiki - only four were built. The main role, according to another source, was military spotting and Forward Air Control.
First flight was in 1989.
Well it looks like the Aussie AA-2 Mamba, but there are significant differences in the fuselage, so maybe this is a later development. Trouble is, I can't find it !
Correction - got it ! It's the AA-2S Mamba, VH-FCX
Thanks, G - here are some much easier machines - a bonus beer if you can tell me which airport , or rather aerodrome !
A direct hit for our friend BG , who must be getting thirsty - - (is it warm in Tuscany yet ??)
Thanks Lefty...Yes it is very pleasant weather now in Tuscany not cold any more and not too hot!
And here's my today's mystery (easy) hoisted by a crane....
BG
Sorry Green you have the correct manufacturer but both replies are wrong.....I'll wait a bit longer and if nobody comes up I'll give the correct reply...
Cheers

Well, I'll make one last stab - dispensing with the Roman Numerals (as my source shows it) this time...
C3?
Well Mr. Green I think you're right....my source shows it as a Dornier DoC2A (adding that it is basically a DC3 with an extra pair of wings).
This is the link from which I collected the information:"The Flying Boat Forum from www.seawings.co.uk."
Therefore the ball is in your courtyard!
Cheers
BG
They must be RFB Fantrainers of the Thai Air Force, by the looks of the scenery ! Apparently some of these, delivered as kits, were never assembled.
Ahh, Bangkok - I can feel the humidity just looking at that photo......
Here's a neat wee fellow from a somewhat different climate..
