Methinks you might be right, Moses. I got fixated thinking it was Soviet, too late started looking German and found out its identity.

1920-ish, American - haven't the faintest idea ! Like the spinner, though.

I have seen similar struts before. Unfortunately they were on a Packard Lussac 11, which is American, but it was designed by Georges Le Pere a Frenchman. Is it anything to do with him?

  9. #864
Not related to Le Pere. This one was a one-off noted for it's speed and did not go into production.

This one was a bit of a stinker. It's the de Marcay 2 from 1919.

Moving along, any takers on this nice amphibian?

Slight resemblance to a Sikorsky S39. But the tail is all wrong.

Hello all - been curling today and last night - a bit weary. Today the GB Olympic squad were out on the ice beside us and to be honest I don't see much difference between their skills and mine............:costumes:

Anyway, Moses' floater is a Heinkel He57 (Baked Bean Special).

I don't have much at all on the de Marcay. That enclosed cabin was removeable though.

    for Lefty on the Heinkel.

I think AviaFrance may be right in calling the French job the de Marçay T4, although there is no pic, the description fits.

The deM 2 was a fairly conventional fighter very similar to a SPAD but with a much-shortened lower wing. Here it is
