This one has a Eastern European feel to it. Flash paint, lawn mower engine, wind swept field...

Eastern Europe would be a long ways off from it's home, a country not well known for aircraft design/production. This one is unusual in that it has no ailerons, but instead uses a variable camber wing. First in a series of 3 aircraft with the same name.

Could the 'windswept field' be on the high veldt, by any chance ? Fruit of the vine ??

You got it. This is the V1. The V2 was almost identical except that it had 3/4 span flaperons with a 40hp ABC scorpion up front. The V3 was a low wing with a geodetic monospar wing. Good job, I thought this would be a show stopper.

Bit of research required there !

This is a lot easier - a neat little aerobatic/trainer job. Not a homebuild...

Someone had an AISA I-11 sitting in the corner when they designed it methinks. Kinda Zlin-ish, in a round-about way too.

    Hi Lefty,
The KZ-8 (KZ-VIII) by Skandinavisk Aero Industri. One built in Denmark, one assembled in Germany (from SAI parts/components) and there was also a homebuilt example (often referred to as the KZ-VIIIR by Mr. Vad in Denmark, but with Lycoming O-360).

    if correct OH please

Ah no problems ..knew it was Danish and had a "K' in the name but it was getting late and past my bed time to do some real research and then I got busy today.

Yes we do have a mystery thread over Wings Over New Zealand but we are not as good as you guys (and gals?) and it stops and starts bit .
