Suspected as much.
It's a Homer T. Blenkiron Alamo Special. Cockpit specially raised to accommodate Stetsons........
Right. This stylish number is from Minnesota. It is a Mohawk M2-C Chieftan.
Here is an easier twin of size-

I go for the Bacon T-6S also known as the Super T-6.
World famous in the LAX area and I was privileged to see the bird in alive
(when I was young). Developed from (you guess...) by the Erle L.Bacon Corporation, flown 1957 and registered N66J. Wonder what happened to this aircraft.
wout!Correct on the Bacon. Not sure what became of it.

I love pigs, but I am addicted to bacon. Smoked, maple-cured, Ayrshire, Wiltshire, free-range Gloucester Old Spot.......
Well done, Wout.
A thread over at WIX said the Bacon was languishing on the ramp at Whiteman Airpark, Los Angeles. Last seen in a faux Soviet cammo scheme, I located it on Google Earth. Date of photo is 2004. The satellite imagery is from Oct 2007.
